Yes, that's what I don't get about Gero's comments particularly. I welcomed Keller and Jewel to the show after First Strike. Heck, I even defended her extensively on GW. Saying, maybe she wasn't as young as she looked, and that I liked that she wasn't too overbearing and wasn't sure about taking Carson's job etc...
I kept giving Keller a chance, but I loathed Missing. I didn't like Keller and I didn't like Teyla much in parts in it either. Teyla was out of character for me a bit, and Keller just whined and annoyed me! Pure and simple. But, I did like her by Quarantine more. Hated Trio, though Keller was ok in it. But it's really season 5 that has turned me off Keller more!
I hated BS with a Vengeance and I didn't find her appealing in The Lost Tribe either. Thing is, the more the writes try to 'fix' Keller, the more I dislike what they do. One minutes she's unsure, then she's holding a gun shooting wraith like a pro. One minute she's found a therapy she's positive will work, the next she's crying on Rodney's shoulder full of self-doubt about her capabilities as a, um, geneticist! LOL!
Oviously, me and any other's who don't adore Keller and think she's been a bit of a cock-up are idiots and it's all our fault. However, the fact that a fair few critics haven't liked her much either does make me think it's not just about me and my likes and dislikes. It's not just one critic either. Many just have said about the obvious miscasting etc...
I have to say, Mallozzi hasn't helped matters. Saying Keller needed so much work and dedication because fans weren't mostly enjoying her. Why not, I don't know, spend some time working on the leading man of the show? You know the one? He's first in the credits? .... (How do I do an angry and fed up face emoticon on lj? LOL!)
