Think they used the Golden Gate as a shout out to Bridge Studios? Back when it was a bridge making facility, part of the Golden Gate bridge was built at Bridge.
This ending was filmed after they learned of the cancellation, right? A much better ending would have been the team on the hive, no contact from Atlantis, and the words To Be Continued on our screen!
You would have heard me screaming had they ended on that scene of McKay and Keller hugging! Keller should have been inventoring her supplies that got messed up during the landing! Rodney should have been with John and his team. And how come Rodney had Keller, Ronon had Banks and Teyla had Kanaan - poor John got no one :(
