Well, got this email today from Creation Con...

I would love to see Joe again, but man, $389 for gold, $55 for the autograph... plus I'd have to pay airfare to get there ($200 minimum I'm sure) plus transport to the airport on my end(not cheap no matter what, alas).

Ah, to win Powerball. With the economy in the state it's in, heck, blowing that kind of money for a con is a bit extravagent (looks shiftly at ancient car, which would probably fall apart the weekend before I'd go)

Sadly it's the only one I have hope of going to because for once it is in the States and more importantly--it's on the freaking EAST COAST.

Flight isn't a big deal, but the con tickets are outrageous.

It'll be so tough, but I think if I'm going to one..this will be it.

Er, midwest, you mean ;) Creation has abandoned the east coast... yeah, the tickets at the con will probably cost more than the airline tickets!

It's the con ticket that is keeping me from it..airfare from Columbus is nothing.

That's the gold ticket. you can get a day pass (probably $25?) plus then pay for autograph/photo ($90 combined) which would be cheaper.

Okay you're right no exactly the coast..lol got excited it wasn't so far away, though I don't consider Ill a mid western state really, right or wrong :-P

I'm with you! Sadly I don't have the funds for this one and I totally can't justify it having already met the man at the 2006 NJ con and on a set visit in 2007. The event alone for gold tix would be $500 and another $500 for airfare and hotel :(
Oh man, I wish there was still an East Coast con - at least then we'd still have Joe hope here!

yeah, i sat there with a calcuator and figured, it would probably run $1K for a three day weekend. heck, I could probably do a week in Florida for that!

Dang, I wish they would commit to a schedule sooner than "a few days before the com". That's only about a 4 hour drive for me. I could do a 1 day and turn around. That would be almost affordable.

To bad Creation did not wait to make this it's last year to the East Coast. With Joe at the con they would have had a lot more people showing up for it and would have kept the con year for another year at least...but nooooooo they had to make last year the last...dumb!

They could have raked in some serious dough if they had gotten Joe for NJ last November. Although, that would have ended Joe's dealing with Creation after that horror hotel!

And not to sound negative or anything, but man, for me to spend the $$$ for Chicago, I'd be pissed if he had to cancel his appearance! At least in NJ I didn't have to pay airfare.

Guess this means Joe doesn't have a new gig yet. Sigh.

Yeah, at least locally, it's gas, but to spend airfare (plus getting to airport) and not the guest you want... it'll be interesting to see how the economy plays out as many fans are being more careful with cash.

That's what gets me - the airfare costs. At least in NJ I was going for the friends there as much as the guests. I only know a few people going to Chicago. It'd still be fun though :(

Sadly, I will be in Chicago in May not August. And I can't afford those prices...struggling university student here!!! But believe me! If I win the lotto I would be there in a heartbeat! Maybe I can delay my trip to Chicago till August...humm wonder if my cousin would mind me missing her HS grad for Joe Flanigan. She would understand right? :D

Or maybe my dad will spring for another plane ticket to Chicago. Last I checked $896 but $550 if you catch a seat sale...hummmm...I don't think so.
