A lot of people don't know it's about, I am sure. Mostly people know through the TC pimps [people who talk about the movie and tell people tpo watch it]. I know for a fact that many of us all heard about Thoughtcrimes through a mutual friend athat we all have here on LJ.
There is a post in there somewhere where you can find a link to download the pilot if you want to watch it. I am not sure, but I think it's flocked, so you might have to join the comm to find that post.
