One time I had been away for several days and came home to find two mice that had fallen into the bathtub and couldn't get out. Upon entering the bathroom, I smelled an awful smell and pulled the shower curtain back and there they were. I'm not quite sure how they got in there in the first place but there they were. The awful smell was the stench of the remains of their third companion, whom they had eaten to stay alive! Ewww! Managed to scoop them up w/a paper cup. They were dazed and weak and didn't put up much of a fight. I handed them over to my dad (who happened to be there at the time). He took them outside and "squashed" them out of their misery. Poor mice.
