Oh, definitely. TPTB at 24 are much the same way; they respect the fans, always try to have their finger on the pulse of what the fans like so that they can mix it up with their own ideas to create something we'll all enjoy, but without either pandering to us or flipping us the bird.
TPTB at Stargate, however, crossed that forbidden line long ago, and there's only so long they can keep it up without getting burned.
