I didn't believe tptb when they said SGU was going to be dark and edgy and this seems to confirm it. Take a running jump off the cliff, not find the edge and take a couple large steps back from it. If they'd truly gone dark - completely cut off from Earth, people dying because of others' mistakes (which would haunt characters for at least several episodes), and trying to deal with technology that they truly can't completely understand, I at least would have them some respect and tried to watch.
