Short but sweet. TV Producer Jace Hall posted on twitter today (http://twitter.com/JaceHall)

Joe Flanigan said hes shooting a modern western w/ Hal Holbrooke, Robert Patrick, Samantha Mathis. He's a Sherrif that mans up an kix ass!

Joe Flanigan and Robert Patrick? This sounds like it's gonna be fun!

Hey with this news, short but sweet works for me!!!

I just hope it is NOT some light and fluffy bit of nothing but more along the line of the mood of VEGAS i.e. angst ridden......with a bit of his wry humor thrown in........
I would love to see this lead into a series for him........

Deja vu! I said I wanted Joe in a Western in my LJ on *AUGUST 5TH*. Glad he heard me and took the role! My exact words......

"After seeing Lonesome Dove the miniseries AGAIN on TV, and having my fix of Joe Flanigan on Warehouse 13 (but please don't get me started on HOW BAD that episode was), I have come to a conclusion:

I want Joe Flanigan to be in a Western.

Think about it--hat, saddle, horse, scruffiness...........we've seen the "detective" side, now how about this?

I feel an AU plot bunny coming on."

Woo hoo!

Joe Flanigan and Robert Patrick? This sounds like it's gonna be HOT. I still have a weakness for Patrick when he gets a badass role.

lol, Samantha Mathis can kick ass, too :-) I remember her as the park ranger in Broken Arrow w/Christian Slater (in fact she's done quite a bit of work with him) And even though I still think of her as in her early 20's she's only about a year younger than Joe Flanigan, so, COOL & thanks for the head's-up!!

You have made my day. About time and I hope it gets excellent ratings and someone realizes that a nice chunk of those ratings are due to Joe. I'm really wishing and hoping that my SGA cast gets some good solid work and remains in high demand.I'm biased, I admit. ;)

Been smiling since I read the tweet. What awesome news! Would be even better if it was a pilot (which of course would be picked up).

I think it'll be a direct-to-DVD movie. And I wouldn't actually mind. Then we could mass up and do some buying spree! In a theater, Joe's fans wouldn't make a big dent - there are a lot of them out there but not all of them would go and see the movie in a theater. But with DVDs? That would be a whole thing entirely. Sign me in, I'll be pre-ordering the thingy! I'm in a Joe-withdrawal!

New film

That sounds absolutely fantastic!

I can just see him that role and I also love Robert Patrick - should be really good!

Possible news on the "movie" thanks to a friend of mine....

"Have a lookie see! Many thanks to my LJ friend Lilly for this tip. There are a lot of things stacking up that indicate this *could* be the project announced for JF yesterday.

If so, its a SERIES not a movie!!

no confirmation this is actually it, just a lot of things pointing to this as a possibility, so don't take this as fact!

however, according to my friend, Lilly: "A fan at Joe Flanigan Online found out that there is a new project, a sci fi western, Scott Rosenbaum is producing for FOX. Scott Rosenbaum is the V showrunner, and Jace Hall is producing V... And this news about JF came from Jace Hall, so there's a good chance that this is "the" project.

kind of thin... yes, but worth mentioning..."

Here is my latest (probably wrong) speculation on this project:
1. JaceHall Tweet Dec 7:
Joe Flanigan said hes shooting a modern western w/ Hal Holbrooke, Robert Patrick, Samantha Mathis. He's a Sherrif that mans up an kix ass!
2. Hal Holbrook says in an interview one of his upcoming projects is being a cook in a diner http://www.movieline.com/2009/11/that-evening-suns-hal-holbrook-a-candid-emotional-movieline-interview.php
3.Twitter Dec 7 from ChristianKane01 Robert Patrick filming rehearsal and he can't stop laughing. That's Kathy Baker and yes it hurt!! http://bit.ly/8esJdQ set in a diner
4.Twitter Dec 10 from Richardbrake: In Pennsylvania filming with Lance Henrickson Robert Patrick Hal Holbrook Christian Kane Robert Englund and Kathy Baker. What a cast!
5.More Tweets from ChristianKane01:
-On 2 Pennsylvania to start the next film with some iconic sci-fi actors. T2, Bishop, and Freddie. I wouldn't want to be in the woods with us (Nov 30)
-It's a film I'm doing in Penn. called "Good Day For It" lotsa Talent littered all over the set.... To see all these people in one room.!!! (Dec 5)

I mean it could just be a coincidence, but how many other projects have both Hal Holbrook and Robert Patrick in them.
Although there are an awful lot of cast members mentioned in these tweets, and perhaps Patrick and Holbrook are, in fact, doing something else together???

OMG!!! Sounds like a perfect project for Joe! I can't wait to see it! *happy dance*

What happened to that cops-in-space show Joe and Jason were thinking of doing..? ;)

JOE FLANIGAN

WE ALL WANT JOE FLANIGAN BACK IN ACTION. BILLIONS OF FANS ARE WAITING TO SEE WHAT HE DOES NEXT. I WOULD THINK THAT FOX, ABC, NBC OR SPACE CHANNEL PROGRAMS WOULD HAVE GRABBED HIM BY NOW..NOT AS A RECURRING BUT AS A REGULAR CAST MEMBER.
