UPDATE 2.11.10: I originally posted this last July, when buzz started that NBC was going to remake the classic James Garner drama The Rockford Files. The Hollywood Reporter recently mentioned Matt Dillon’s name as one of the actors producers were persuing for the redo, but in the last couple of days here at TVScreener.com, fans have been excitedly voicing their support for Stargate: Atlantis star Joe Flanigan as the man who could fill Garner’s Emmy-winning Rockford shoes.

I agree, Flanigan would be an excellent Jim Rockford, able to pull off the humor, the leading man charm, the action bits … Rockford producers, the people have spoken (and are continuing to speak). Is Mr. Flanigan on your Rockford Files short list?

Petitions are usually counted as one 'vote' while single emails are probably better. Overwhelm the servers :)

I never thought of that.
That is too bad actually, given how many could sign up
for an online petition......It boggles the mind to contemplate that.
Years ago we did a HUGE petition to save WISEGUY
and apparently CBS got a lot of them by mail.
It brought them back........at least for another year
and same for Magnificent Seven.
I have high hopes for this endeavor also.
Maybe if we pester NBC enough they will see he has
good grass root support.

Jace Hall made the tweet, so that's pretty official that Joe is interested, so I think if enough fans get the word going, who knows? We can definitely show there's interest out there for Joe to be in the part!

To be honest, the best way is for these little entrainment blogs to see and repost news stories about it. The Yahoo entrainment site, get Ask Auselio person to notice it.TMZ, any place that has a presence, someone should post it on their blogs and draw attention to it.

Keep tweeting that’s the thing people can talk about, but the rest of the industry needs to spread it around.
