This particular tornado was 20 MILES wide so you can imagine its
striking capability....packing winds in excess of 150 mph...I don't know how people can stand to live in tornado belts. Mom and I were traveling in Tornado Alley during May one year and did not even realize what it meant when the skies turned black suddenly.........until we got to our motel, I felt we ought to stop right away, and saw the RED banner across bottom of the tv screen warning of a tornado.
BTW the only time I have been in 150mph winds is during typhoon Gloria when I lived on Taiwan. It sounded like a freight train as she came roaring through our area
