But first, a new official photo of Jason Momoa from the Conan movie at http://www.bscreview.com/2010/06/conan-a-wrap-and-momoa-as-conan-pic/. It's at several other sites too, including the main studio site http://nuboyanafilm.com/news/read/234. Bigger photo at those links.

Official PR photo

Although I"m not into barbarian sword-and-sorcery type flicks, I will check out the Conan movie to see Jason. I mean, it was a hoot to see David Hewlett up on the big screen in SPLICE. Now to see Joe Flanigan on the big screen, and Rachel Luttrell. Heck, I want to see her on the small screen too!

...................Then today the site Fancast - http://bit.ly/ad4nnv - reported that Richard Dean Anderson, who had retired from acting, has un-retired and will be doing a recurring role or something similar on the USA Network series Facing Kate. A quote..."Anderson’s ‘Facing Kate’ role is that of David Smith, a charismatic but secretive man who enters Kate’s life shortly after the death of her father. In short order, it is revealed that David has deeper connections to the Reed family." More at link above. It'll be interesting to see how it fares with RDA on it, but then USA has been putting out some pretty decent fare.

.............................Last, Joe Mallozzi reports on his blog at http://josephmallozzi.wordpress.com/2010/06/19/june-19-2010-the-farewell-tour-back-on-top-janinas-new-music-vid/ that Robert C Cooper is departing Stargate Universe. It's been hashed about on various blogs, live journals, etc. To me, it's not much of a surprise as most people do not last that long on a series. They move on to keep the creative juices flowing. I'm not sure how it will impact SGU, but since the show is in the "eh, it's okay and I'll keep watching in hopes it will get better", it doesn't bother me much. However, I can't help but think, wow, why couldn't he have scripted "Vegas" before season 5, to open the doors, so to speak, on good AU stuff like that. Oh well.

Yeah, completely not surprised about Mr. Cooper leaving the franchise. I heard from a reliable source about 2 years ago that he wanted to leave the franchise. I wish him luck - he's a talented writer/director. As to SGU, I quit watching after epi 4. Just... couldn't... take... it...

Jason as Conan will be Momoawesome! hehe Joe on big screen will be *gulp* *thud* even better! hehe

Thank you for another fantastic report & keeping us updated!

BTW agree totally about Vegas, and so does Joe apparently because when asked he said 'should have come sooner' or some words like it

Thanks for the All The News That's Fit To Print!!!
Looking forward to Jason's movie, I would never have watched it otherwise, but I'm really anxious to see it now.
And a bit taken aback with Rob Cooper's retirement/moving on, wasn't he the one who wanted to go in a new direction with SGU? Looks like it didn't quite satisfy his yen for creative expansion...

ETA: RDA is now on Twitter! http://twitter.com/andersonrdean

Nice Jason pic. Yum. Thanks for the info on RDA and yes, Cooper -ahem, well, less said, sooner mended.

As for seeing Joe on the big screen? Oh yes but as he writes I wouldn't mind seeing him get something written and sold so that maybe he could do the double whammy? I read a great SGA rec the other day with the SGA crew (plus Cadman) as basically the Leverage crew with Teyla in charge. I would LOVE to see something like that on my screen with the gang. Ah dear, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the gang, they deserve good things. Thanks for all the info.

Hmm... Jason M looking mighty fine. i think that picture shall go into the eye-candy shrine.. :D.. Does anyone else have the "cupboard under the stairs" where you figuratively keep the eyecandy actors?? My sister and I do.. I often wonder if it's just us..

I kind of figured that once little girl went to school RDA would get bored and be back working again, he strikes me as a guy who "has to be doing things or he will go mad".

Not too surprised about people leavign the franchise I mean it it a heck of a long time to do effectively 1 creative job.. I look forward to whatever comes up in teh future.
