I think it is indeed part of the fan dome, it has to offer many different and cool new things. And it´s an insult to say SGU is not Stargate anymore. I really get sick with all the nay sayers who tend to spread so much negativity on a franchise that had made three cool TV shows over almost two decade´s. I love McKay, Shep and co. as much as I love Rush, Eli and Young. And SG1 and SGA had their downtimes and bad episodes, decisions as much as any other show.
