As a diehard SGA fan, I tuned into SGU reluctantly and prepared to be bitter. I have to say that it has grown on me, so long as I don't think of it as related to SGA. It is dark and messy and there isn't a single character on there that I want to follow into fandom. But Young seems very complex to me, so if I continue to ignore the same old casting stereotypes of the women and minority actors, I can actually pretend that this has nothing to do with SGA and is merely TPTB attempt to revisit BSG or DS9 in their whitebread, predictable way. I really feel that a SGA character will not blend with this show very well, the tone is so different. (And wouldn't they have to address the post-series time if they brought a character over from Earth now?) Anyway, while the Eleventh Doctor finds his feet, SGU was a fairly engaging show that had nothing to do with 'jumpers, Todd, or, you know, likeable people.
