I wouldn't really say he's never done any harm. This is, after all, the guy who created a virus for the sole purpose of changing one species into another - his own - because he believed they'd be better off. Carson has done as many morally dubious things as anyone, though it doesn't seem to have done any harm to his image. (Unlike Shep, who apparently can't kill or kiss anyone without getting raked over the coals.)

If he married young, it would have been waaay before he went to Afghanistan, lol. I did the math the other day and he's old enough (assuming that he's supposed to be anywhere near Joe's age) to have participated in Desert Storm.
