Very well put, I think you said everything that I loved and hated about this. Also, after Carson's death scene, I could swear that right as he is being engulfed in flame he's sorrounded by that yellow light that means he's ascending. Don't know, maybe it was my imagination, but I watched it a few times and the more I watch it, the more I'm convinced. I think you are right about John marrying young. When I was in the Army, EVERYONE was getting engaged and married right out of AIT (Advanced Individual Training which is right after boot camp), and then getting a divorce. I can picture very easily Sheppard getting married right out of training, when his hormones are all on overdrive and his brain his still running on adrenaline and the urge to move, move, move, do something. Anyway, just my two cents.
