TV Guide - the June 18th issue - has a two page spoiler-ridden spread on the finale, plus the plot for "Ark of Truth."

Click on cut only if you want to know....

* Four pictures, two from "Unending", one off-set, and one from "Ark of Truth" - the one shot on the left is worth the price of the magazine.

* ER's Goran Visnjic visited the set and told tv guide he was "thrilled" to be photographed in front of the gate. [Darn! Jeers to TV Guide for not posting that photo - only wish Goran would do SGA!)

* Vala and Daniel become lovers - no, it's not Sam and Jack, it's Vala and Daniel. Sam and Jack will probably never happen, not if she's in another galaxy... [actually, I had no problem with Daniel and Vala as they make more sense than Jack and Sam - I mean, it's been a decade and it's still 'sir.' Ain't gonna happen...)

* Ark of Truth - "focuses on the Ori's threat to Earth and a device that may deprogram its soldiers."

* "Continuum," coming next spring, will feature an alternate-timeline story in which O'Neill, Carter and Mitchell find themselves in the 1939 Arctic battling Nazis - and an old alien enmy - over the newly discovered gate.

I may be the only one who cringed when I read that, but Enterprise already did the Nazi plot thing, as has half a dozen really bad movies on SciFi. What is this obsession with Nazis in scifi flicks lately? Sorry, it's just so friggin' cringeworthy....

And after watching last week's "Family Ties," yes, I think it's time to retire the show... sorry to say...

Is it bad that I hear the word 'Nazi' and automatically my mind goes to Joe Flanigan playing either the son of or the younger Indiana Jones..?

Well, better than thinking 'oh god, not another insipid nazi scifi plot,' which is what came to my mind immediately. With bad CGI monsters, no doubt.

Maybe it's just that I don't have SciFi channel and thus haven't seen all these bad Z-list movies...

Well, bad flicks are basically what SciFi airs ;)

Extremely bad flicks. I really can't believe anyone watches them.

I have been a fan of SG1 since the original movie. I'm sorry to see it end but I think it's time has come. The past 2 years have been very hard to watch. IMO.

I've actually watched them, too many of 'em, I'm sure ;(

I was a huge fan of SG1 in the beginning, but like you, the last few seasons have been trying. I like the cast and thought Ben Browder invigorated the show, but for me, the writing just got dull :(

I lost interest in SG-1 after the end of S7...I'm honestly surprised it went on another 3 years. As much as I like Vala and Cam as characters, nothing they did could honestly redeem the writing...

I know the feeling. Normally, when a show I like is bumped off, I get ticked off, but when they announced SG1's demise, I was like, oh well.

So what's the picture worth the price of the magazine?

I think it says something all these years on that I still pine for DS9 - yet SG-1 has only just gone off the screens and I really couldn't give a crap...

Ok, did they just rip off *ahem* homage Indiana Jones with both movies????

I am sorry they won't give us closure one way or another on the Sam/Jack thing, although I can see and am glad to have the Daniel/Vala resolution--in a way, it ties up his search for Sha'are and dealing with her death.

But I admit I've just about stopped watching it because the writing was becoming excrutiating.

I just wish I could get into SGA. And I wish this wasn't the year of the bad nazi movie...

Daniel and Vala? ::cries:: I'm apparently the only one, but I find Vala insufferable. Daniel hasn't made a dating choice this bad since he boinked the Destroyer of Worlds.

And didn't The X-Files do an AU Nazi ep, too? I seem to remember something about a cruise ship and an AU Scully. It's been way too long since I've watched that show.

Argh, not a Vaniel fan. :(

Also, time traveling and NAZIS?! Jeez, hasn't every other SF show done that already? The well of TPTB's creativity has truly run dry...

I don't mind Vaniel ;)

But the Nazi plot line... yeah, it's been done to death. X-Files, Enterprise, bad movies on Skiffy... the list is probably endless. Not to mention "Ark" and "nazis" rings of "Raiders of the Lost Ark."

Yeah, sure seems so.

Oh yes, X-Files did a Nazi episode, too... yup, a time travel episode. Oh my, Raiders of the Lost Ark and X-Files ripoffs in one episode ;)

I don't think they'll ever close the Sam/Jack thing until they think the movies can float on their own. I think enough fans are still clinging to hope they'll see it in a movie (although at this rate, Jack's gonna be retired before it happens, and now with Sam in another galaxy...)
