I can't believe it! SciFi has managed to condense one of their awful scifi flicks into a TV show now. I'm sorry, but I tried it, truly I did. It's had a few snarky lines of dialogue, but the flat delivery, boringness that extends into a black vacuum of space, can't save it. I should really drag myself out the room and turn off the tube, well, reverse the order, and spare myself the misery that is a much-ballyhooed Skiffy show, but well, there might be an SGA ad. I know. Pitiful. Wait, wait. I can set the DVR and leave and check tomorrow. Yeah, I'll try to last till 10pm so I can say I saw all of it (or is 90 minutes? no, say it aint' so!)

The only bad thing is that this show is the lead-in to season 4 of Stargate Atlantis. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!  I'd rather watch CNN than Flash Gordon. Really. I see myself watching Doctor Who, then checking out CBS' vampire show at 9pm, then going back to SGA at 10pm, although will I miss any ads? Although, is it worth the pain? Usually the first show/pilot is really good. In this case, it's not.

I chose the Teyla icon cuz that's what I should be doing, yes, covering my eyes...

Oh dear. I was afraid of that. Not good for SGA ratings. :(

I read some reviews and they were not kind. It may not last till Sept to be the lead in for SGA.

Yup. The next one might be better, hard to tell, but the pilot bored me to death. Anyway, the SGA ad is up at the next entry, or at

I read some blistering reviews, but also read some kind ones (as in the show is campy) but wow, after watching DOCTOR WHO, it's like going from Swiss Cheese to fake plastic cheese...

What they oughta do is put Flash (if it survives) at 8pm, DOC WHO at 9pm, and then SGA at 10, or WHO at 8, SGA at 9pm and I turn off the TV at 10 :)

So glad I didn't bother giving it a chance. During Doctor Who they showed the ad for the DVD of the movie, and oh my god, reminded me why I wasn't going to watch it.

Well, the SGA ad was worth, and swore if I'm going to trash a show, I'm watching it first, so I did, so now I can ;)

I watched the whole thing, sort of hoping for something to happen, like the guy playing Flash to show a personality, but nope. Nada. With the exception of the part when they first land on Mongo (the "just keep smiling") he was about as colorful as a beige carpet. I guess I was hoping for a Flash more like the Comic Book character than the Movie character, but no.

About the only thing that kept me interested for the first fifteen minutes was trying to figure out where I'd seen the dad before. And then I remembered--it's the captain of the Aurora! Which I'm sure everyone knew but me. Heh. He looks good (looks fitter!). Lovely eyes that man.

I guess I'm going to be the odd man out. I've been looking forward to this. I adored the old Flash Gordon Movie with the music by Queen. I even love the old black and white series.

This was...slow starting. I'll give it some time, but I was disappointed they didn't just dump in him in Mongo and leave him there like the other versions do.

We'll see what happens.

Ooh, that's stinging. Colorful as a beige carpet, but, alas, you hit the nail on the head. So that's why Flash's dad looked familiar!

But the SGA ad was nice. Yes, if I'm asked about Flash, I can say the SGA ad was nice ;)

I probably will watch it again next week, just to see if there are SGA ads, or record it and go through it. Oh my, I couldn't stand the movie, but the Queen music was good.

I thought it was pretty bad. But when I was telling hubby how wooden the dialogue was etc, he just came back with, "But that's how it's always *been*." O-kay, but sweetie, it's *crap*. Ugh. He liked it okay, I didn't, at all, and it totally sucks that it is supposed to be the lead-in for SGA. Yuck. Hopefully it'll be pulled before then. But then again, Painkiller Jane with it's awful ratings is still running so I'm betting not.

Based on the pilot, I'm not sure if it's a keeper for a lot of reasons already stated. For the ratings, I *really* hope it's not the lead in for SGA. :S

I'd agree with what was said - that Skiffy should rearrange the schedule Flash Gordon at 8, Dr. Who at 9 and SGA at 10, because Flash seems a little more suited for younger audiences than Dr Who and otherwise I have to kill an hour after Dr. Who. Actually, I'm really upset that SGA is on at 10 - with where I live and my crazy cable provider it's on at 11 at least until the end of daylight savings.

I vote for Dr Who to be first, then SGA and who cares when they air Flash. My first impression was yuck. I kept waiting for it to get interesting and it didn't. IMHO. I've never been more interested in watching the commercials than the show. LOL! I loved the SGA ad.

Ah, he's their target demographic!! ;) I think I"d rather watch Painful Jane than FLashy Gordon...

Well, he isn't that up on it. *grin* He said 'it has potential' but on this show I can't agree with him on that. We both thought that about Dresden, and I think DF *did* get better but I still think it didn't quite make it as far as it needed so the cancellation didn't take me completely by surprise...but this one, I don't get the potential because the dialogue is bad and if a writer can't get dialogue, then that's that. And the characters have to bring things alive and like you pointed out, nope, not at all.
