What I got from Misgotten is that the good guys can become the bad guys very easily and the bad guys are not always that bad. It really depends on what side of the fence you are on and from which perspective you are looking at it. The Wraith do what they do to survive and the Humans stoop just as low in the fight for their survival. The Atlantis team had an opportunity to have an ally among the Wraith but they let their hatred and prejudice of the Wraith get in the way. Yes the Wraith queen betrayed them but Michael did not - he wanted to form the alliance with the Atlantians and whats to say that there arn't more out their like him. How will the Atlantis team ever defeat the Wraith if they can never get past the bit "that all Wraith are evil". I didn't see Michael as evil - I saw him doing what he had to do to survive - just like Sheppard. They both are prepared to kill and even in Michael, Michael said that he didn't want to kill the guard - he just wanted to get away. You portrayed Sheppard as being outraged that Carson was bruised and tied down but they tied down Michael and experimented on him - so which side is the more evil. In war hatred just breeds more hatred - and the killing continues with both sides justifying that they are just doing what is necesary to survive, and both lamenting over the many dead. Until someone gets past this and offers an olive branch to find some sort of compromise then things will never really change. They had an opportunity to do this through Michael but as Woolsey said Sheppard was not yet prepared to get past his feelings of hatred for the Wraith and until he does no Alliance can ever be made and the killing will continue. Thanks for a great read and this is probably the first time that my full sympathy for some reason is not entirely with Sheppard.
