To be honest, I'm still reeling over Comic-Con. Despite the crowds, the mile-long lines, the fanboy arrogance, concessions selling bottled water for $6 because it's "Stargate Atlantis Collector's Edition" water, or a crazy little thing called sleep deprivation, it was probably my personal best. (that’s the only mention, but it’s got a great rundown of the con itself, but this person may do more entries as that’s just day one).

A growing clutch of press folk gathered outside the press room behind Ballroom 20 at the appointed time, and waited, with various degrees of impatience, to enter the Stargate Press Conference. A combination of the two Stargate casts - Chris Judge, Ben Browder, Amanda Tapping, Gary Jones, Jewel Staite and David Hewlett - and the producers - Robert Cooper, Joe Mallozi and Martin Wood - lined up along the Comic Con backdrop and answered questions ranging from the future of Atlantis to shooting in the Arctic to the perils of replacing popular characters and homesickness for Firefly.

Afterwards, I went with Suzy and CaptainBJones to prepare for the Stargate SG-1/Atlantis press conference. While I've watched SG-1 a few times and liked it, I wasn't super into it, but knew enough to ask intelligent questions. Suzy on the other hand was a massive fan, so I got her in as my photographer while I asked questions. On hand were Amanda Tapping, Ben Browder, Christopher Judge, David Hewlett, Jewel Staite, Robert Cooper, and Joe Mallozzi.

Nearly everyone in the rooming co-op was a Stargate fan of some form or another, so we got up and headed straight to the appropriate room when the convention opened. We arrived well in advance of the first panel scheduled (premiere of a new show), but for reasons I was never quite clear on, the screening was rescheduled. When they made the announcement, I swear not a soul moved – everyone was there for the Stargate panels.
