Highlights so far: a panel with James Marsters (Spike) and Juliet Landau (Drusilla) of Buffy, the Buffy Horror Picture Show--a big enthusiastic Once More with Feeling singalong--, dancing late with my earplugs in front of the huge speakers, a panel with Ron Glass (Shepherd Book) and Mark Sheppard (Badger) of Firefly, and a huuuuge panel today with Stargate cast members. There were Michael Shanks (Daniel Jackson) and his wife (they met when she had a guest role on Stargate), Chris Judge (Tiel'c), Corin Nemec (Jonas Quinn), Alexis Cruz (Skaara), Paul McGillion (Dr. Beckett [the Scottish doctor] on SG: Atlantis), some new villain dude who I haven't caught up to in the serieses, and even more who I never placed. Crazy, huh? Boy are they a raunchy and rowdy bunch.

The Stargate Mega-panel was the most I’ve laughed in a long time. The actors are all hilarious, especially Chris Judge (?) from SG-1, and of course, Paul McGillion. I was also really excited about seeing Jason Momoa and he did not disappoint. Even longer dreads, and he showed up in a tank top. I am a very happy woman right now. :-) I realized at some point that with the dreads and the facial hair and his features, he looks like a big happy lion. So cute. And Paul McGillion said that yes, David Hewlett is a fantastic kisser. I was afraid to ask, thinking that everyone must ask him that at cons, and he must have anticipated that everyone would ask him and just brought it up himself. ;-D ETA: Paul McGillion joked about living at Joe Flannigan's house and then did an unflattering impersonation of him, and then Jason Momoa said that he lived at Joe's house, too, and did an even more unflattering impersonation of him. Hee.

Tricia Byrne is recent transplant to Piedmont from New Jersey. She goes to the convention to meet with other fans and stars of Stargate SG-1. Byrne writes "fan fiction" about the characters in the show and has met many of its stars, even getting photo credits in a book about the series. She also collects trading cards from the series in big, three-ring binders.

"The cards are insured for $5,000," Byrne said, pointing out some of the more expensive ones. "It goes on the homeowner's as 'collectibles.''"
