Got the time to pop in the DVD of the New Zealand black comedy-horror flick BLACK SHEEP, about, what else? Killer sheep!

It was funny! Lovely pastoral fields, fluffy almost white sheep that, through one idiot's genetic manipulation, turns them into a horde, er, flock, of man-eating killer sheep. It's played tongue-in-cheek, with likeable and not so likeable characters, populating the flick. Henry is our hero. He's got severe sheep phobia issues due to a bad childhood experience brought upon him by his brother Angus, who now runs the family sheep ranch and is buying out Henry (who's okay with that as the sight of a baaing sheep makes him grab his cellphone to call his therapist).

It all goes to hell in a handbasket when two environmental types accidentally let loose one of the genetically altered sheep that should have been destroyed. The whole movie takes place over one day, really, as the sheep go on a rampage and well, even when people get eaten, you laugh as it's done so well.

If you like whacky litle horror flicks, and animals eating people ;) this flick's for you.

Here's their official website: http://www.blacksheep-themovie.com/

We'll have to watch for that. Where'd you find it? It sounds akin to 'Slither'. Or even 'Island of Terror'. We are all about wacky little horror flicks!

Oh, I read about it months ago in a NY newspaper, then saw an ad on SciFi channel! Best Buy circular came and there it was, so Best Buy has it. I love the trailer... "It's about the violence... of the lambs!" Ha!

Nooo! It's not fair! Last year you posted a link to a "Shoot the Sheep" BBC game and gave me the idea for a story. Now you post about man-eating sheep and give me an idea for a story! (Well, it's not a full-fledged idea yet, but it's percolating.) :-)

Ha! Yes, I remember that link! Andyou can shoot sheep on the BLACK SHEEP website (just added link to post). Although on that site it's a darned site more bloody ;)

I actually had an idea about a sheep story with SGA, but heck, go for it (as you'll get it written a lot sooner than I will).

If it had hit the theaters here, I would have paid to see it on the big screen, but critters that eat people flicks never get to my theaters :(

We saw it! We saw it!

And, apart from squealingly baad comments like "get ready for the spring-loaded sheep" and "Wow, he just got lambaasted" and "someone pulled the wool over HIS eyes" (ok, that last was mine, the other two were Big D's) it was a thoroughly enjoyable little flick. We were howling with laughter at some spots. The 'raving greenie' made me chuckle, and I swear I went to school with someone like Grant - tebbly tebbly earnest and serious and living on the edge and utterly out! of! touch! with! reality!

And the thunder...out of a clear blue sky...whatever could that be?

I can think of a couple folks we have to show this one to. Snert!

i think this sounds a lot like SliTher actually. i bet it pokes fun at itself too! :) although it also reminds me of the killer bunny rabbits in Monty Python & The Holy Grail too. *lol*

"Sweet, but deadly are the mad bunny rabbits with rabies...Do not cross them."

"But...But they're BUNNY rabbits."

*goes to pet one*

Bunny goes beserk and knaws his arm off.

*grin* Ahhhh. Memories. ;)

Say tho - did you get my email yet? I sent it earlier today from my yahoo! addy (orangtabby2003@yahoo.com). Unfortunately, it was about something a wee bit different than this. it was about the sga novel casalities of war that you apparently read way back in august...
