Q: And you can make fun of him for the "Kirk" thing.

A:Yes indeed. His Kirk thing is shameless. Both on and off camera.

Q: But that's happening to Rodney now -- he's got Katie [Brown (Brenda James)], Sam [Carter (Amanda Tapping)], Dr. Keller [(Jewel Staite)]. And he has no idea what to do with them. Is Rodney really that clueless with women, or is it a defense mechanism?

A" [laughs] I'm really hoping it's a defense mechanism. I think he's in that interesting situation where as a scientist and a nerd he's basically only ever objectified women. So to actually have to communicate with them -- that's the wonder of his relationship with Sam Carter, is that not only is she in his terms "hot," but also just as smart as he is. He finds that both absolutely alluring and alarming at the same time.

Unless there is something in the interview that is a spoiler for the episode...Even if it is something that most us know about MGM may want to play it safe and not release it until Sci-fi has aired the episode.

I loved the about his worries about needing to cross into the US if Jane went into labor while he was filming The Last Man. That would be a bit tricky.

It reminds of a story about Armin Shimmerman of Deep Space Nine racing across LA just after the Northbridge earthquake...still wearing part of his Quark make-up.

Oh yeah, actors showing up for planes in makeup. Richard Chaves (War of the Worlds, 1989 Paramount tv series) had been filming the movie Predator with Arnold Schwrzenegger. WEll, he finished his death scene where he got shot up, then had to run for the plane, in his costume, which consisted of a military uniform and blood.It wasn't until everybody on the plane was staring at him in trepidation that he realized he'd forgotten to change.
