Ah, okay, my comments. Blast, tarnations, etc. No Joe Flanigan commentary! Curses! However, he does have a family, and that family is in California and he films in Vancouver so if they schedule this stuff when he wants to fly home and play with the kids, well, family takes priority, but I can still whinge and pout a bit anyway….

Hmm, Disc 1 – Yeah, they’re going to use SGA to push the SG1 movies. That was a given, although they should be considerate and push SGA on the SGA1 movie DVDs!  Yes, two, count ‘em, two commentaries with Hewlett. And we get a Doppelganger  mission directive.

Disc 2 – hopefully, bloopers. If not, I can live, but we also get Rachel and Jewel doing some commentary.

Disc 3 – I’m disappointed that neither David nor Kate Hewlett were able to do commentary on Miller’s Crossing. It would have been a hoot!

Disc 4 – Alas, the commentary listing doesn’t excite me, although I hope the Outcast mission directive has some stuff with Joe Flanigan.

Disc 5 – Whoa, Jason’s do a commentary. About time!

I must admit I’m way behind in listening to commentaries, or watching extras, on the DVDs (heck, ANY DVD) as my main reason for buying DVDs is clear unedited copies of the show/movie I want to watch, with no blasted ads on the screen. And I suspect Amanda Tapping was more generally available to do commentaries but, no offense, I’d rather hear the original SGA actors do some commentary. I like Amanda, but I really want to hear the others more. I mean, ten years of SG1, y’know?

I actually really like the commentaries done by Martin Wood. He's funny and tells you things that are interesting, unlike some of the other people who do commentaries (although it probably has a lot to do with what part of the filming process you're interested in.)

Hopefully the bloopers will stay in! Joe Mallozzi has been keeping us updated on his blog, but he hasn't mentioned them for a few days. I have asked him how they're going but he might not answer.

I will miss the Joe Flannigan commentaries, but life goes on. Maybe next season...

Martin Wood is awesome. I love it when he's in the behind the scenes special features. There's just something about him, sense of humor, seems like a really nice guy, some of that magnetism... And the way he interacts with the actors. I'll never forget the bit he did with Joe Flanigan about Joe playing the scene like a girl...

I'm really going to miss Martin Wood directing on stargate, but I supposer he had to move on sometime and it's not like I'm never going to get to see his stuff because I will be watching Sanctuary when it comes out, but the DVD's just won't be the same *sigh*
