Stargate Atlantis: Joe Flanigan on Chelsea Lately 7-14-2008

Joe Flanigan did indeed appear on the E! Channel (US cable) show Chelsea Lately. Below are the links to two videos of the brief interview. It’s in two pieces (videos) cuz that’s all the digital camera can handle. I’m sure one video will show up on YouTube any day now ;)

Thanks for posting this. :) I was really surprised when I heard Joe was going to be on. I would think MGM would keep their stars away from her show, since it's kind of a joke and she ends up offending everyone. Guess ratings and DVD sales are more important. And, I'm very impressed with how well Joe handled himself! If I would have been there, I would have mocked talk show hosts when she started mocking sci-fi. ;=)

Haha! I think MGM probably would have liked him to hold the DVD set up and draw attention to it rather than tossing it onto the table, which seemed a bit sulky.

thanks for posting. The guest abuse is basically Chelsea's bit and supposed to be in the Kathy Griffin brand of funny but not really witty enough-- I don't think she gets a lot of repeat guests....

Yeah, she was actually pretty mild with him compared to how she treats some of her guests. I agree that her humor is supposed to come off as being more along the lines of Kathy Griffin---however Kathy gets away with her teasing because she's funny----at least in my opinion--- (who else could get away with calling Renee Zellwegger a "sweaty, puppy, coke-whore"? Eeek! and Renee sent her flowers afterward!) but Chelsea has not made me laugh yet, and I've watched the show more times than I'd like to admit. Maybe her goal is to make both the guests and the audience uncomfortable?

Thanks so much for posting this. I have never watched this show- the only thing I ever watch on E is the Soup because they make fun of stuff like this. So glad that you posted it so that I could only watch the good part with Joe :) Thanks again!

Did you see that post on Mallozzi's blog that went something like: "Did you catch Joe F. on Chelsey Lately last night?" And Mallozzi responded (and to paraphrase), "No, I didn't, but his wife did and she was pretty mad."
