Stargate Atlantis: Joe Flanigan on Chelsea Lately 7-14-2008

Joe Flanigan did indeed appear on the E! Channel (US cable) show Chelsea Lately. Below are the links to two videos of the brief interview. It’s in two pieces (videos) cuz that’s all the digital camera can handle. I’m sure one video will show up on YouTube any day now ;)

Cool! Thanks for posting the videos. I have about an hour left to wait to see it live on TV. The interview wasn't very informative but I guess I was expecting too much from Chelsea Lately.

Thanks for putting this up, I just knew I'd miss it. Is it odd that I take no small amount of pride in the fact that he held his own against Chelsea? Take that, woman who thinks plywood intergalactic spacecraft are ridiculous! :D

I appreciate that he did the interview at all. The host was annoying; people like her always mock sci-fi but never stop to realize how much it's actually in entertainment right now. We wouldn't have half the summer blockbusters and hit TV shows without geeks!

I do dig the scruff and the outfit though! Jeans work well on Joe.

Jeans worked very well on Joe! His constant shifting in the chair reminded me of Harrison Ford on Letterman a few weeks ago (well, think it was a repeat).

I found myself wondering how many people she slept with to get on television, cos A) she's no journalist, B) she's no LOOKER (just another plastic bint), and C) she's not even FUNNY. And if she made it sound almost derogatory to be in a sci-fi show!! Besides, it just showed her complete ineptitude and ignorance - I don't think there is a single sci-fi show WITHOUT cute guys in it???? I sure know a talk-show with a big-mouth, naff, inane and utterly boring braindead bizatch on it. Chelsea Lately? Not bloody likely - I'd like to make her LATE-ley...as in the LATE Chelsea Lately.

Dumb tart...Joe is such a sweetheart, he didn't deserve a stupid cow like that interviewing him.

After watched Ryan Seacrest on the show before this one, I've determined there's no skillset required for being a host on an E! show, except the capacity to just deride people and things. They actually had an article on her in a magazine which I skimmed and totally forgot as well, there was nothing notable. But hey, look at this. I doubt as many people watch a fraction of her half-hour of drivel, compared, to say, how many people watch SGA ;)

I really don't see what was so bad about it, after reading people's comments I thought it was going to be unbearably cringeworthy but the interview was no more asinine and the host no more inane than they ever are on these kind of shows. Far bigger stars than Joe have had to put up with far worse indignity. Even if they spent more time talking about Britney than they did SGA, at least we got to see something a little different from Joe than him going over the same old, same old.

As for him appearing on any of the big chat shows, unlikely to happen. Joe may be famous to those of us who are in to SciFi and active in online fandom but he's pretty low down on the Hollywood food chain.

On the latter remark, very true, which also means he's not harrassed by the papparazzi, which is good. However, I must admit that I had no idea how awful talk shows were on E! It's a channel I rarely watch and guess I now know why ;) I think if the host hadn't spent the first 20 minutes of the show being so crass, wouldn't have cringed so much ...

The vid hasn't loaded yet, :( But she had Tricia Hefner on the other night, and she was terrible with her to. She admitted she didn't have the first clue about Scifi and really didn't understand it. So nothing will surprise me with what she says. LOL
