Glad it wasn't a 'he'. They tend to snort and bang their hooves into the ground ;)

Although a buck would have been cool, too, but then there would have been no fawns around...

Aren't they just about the most beautiful animals on the planet?

It makes me sad that people shoot them... or that they get on the roads...

If people didn't build up so many macmansions, knock down so many trees, and get rid of natural predators, there wouldn't be an overload of deer. yeah, I see 'em hit by cars all the time. squirrels more so.

True. The McMansions are a major problem, over here as well as over there. And they're ugly!!!

Ugly, energy guzzlers, huge carbon footprint, etc, and why do 2-4 people need a house with 30 rooms??

Exactly.

Meanwhile, on the roads, I've spotted some of those godforsaken Hummers. WTH? Australians don't drive cars like that. It's ridiculous. I don't know why it's happening suddenly. There aren't a lot of them, but there's one down the street from me and I've seen a few others around.

We've generally driven smallish cars here, the largest being a 4WD. Those things are just monstrosities!

Hummers are just a waste in general, except for military applications. Otherwise, anybody driving them in civilian life is just stupid.

By the way, I watched something about a man who lives with bears in Alaska the other night. Amazing stuff. Beautiful bears.

They're watching you!!!!! At least they aren't in pieces!

Ha! Yeah, they're alive and not scattered across the yard ;) they're quite cute, as is the bunny, which ate ALL the lettuce in the garden. Oh well, that'll teach me to not shut the gate... of course, maybe it was the big leopard slug. They ravage gardens, too.

And they're not zombie deer!

Yet.

Curious little things arent' they? Beautiful. As for the lettuce, I am just jealous of fresh home grown veggie. Summer was terrible here this year, and I just couldn't take the heat long enough to plant anything.

well, the lettuce was awful bitter (heat) so, it wasn't so bad losing it. however, it ticks me off the squash plants have only give me two squashes !

Awwww! They're so cute. We used to get lots of deer running through my neighborhood, but now, it's all been converted into housing, so their appearances happen a lot less often. :(
