How to amuse yourself on a lazy summer day

Well, last year, in 2007, as I was putzing through the hard drive and went "oh, chimpmunk!" so if you have nothing else to do, you can watch this video of my endeavor to increase the chipmunk population (which, if I count the holes in the lawn, worked far too well. I mean, they're cute, but they undermined my squash plants!)

Years ago, we put out birdseed for all the critters, squirrels, chipmunks, birds, whatever wandered by. We felt very virtuous until we discovered that the problems we were having with my dad's car came from the chipmunks storing the seeds in the air filter.

Ah, that explains it. meanwhile, I have never seen a live sugar glider although we do have flying squirrels somewhere around here..

That was pretty much the cutest thing I've seen all month. Yay chipmunk! I love the way he just got bolder and bolder, and how incredibly well he stuffed his face!

Yesterday I was sweeping thep atio and the chippie was under the birdfeeder just looking at me like "where's the food?" Brazen little critters, but you gotta be to be there first for the food!

Deer eat our flowers, and chipmunks and squirrels polish off the rest, so I didn't put any in this year.

No deer where we live just the chipmunks and a few rabbits, but this was the first year they ate the lilies.
