I understand the term/concept. :-) I've read several h/c fan fiction stories up through my years as a fan.
I just don't understand what the attraction is with "whump", I mean, why do fans like to see or read about their characters getting hurt? *scratches head* Maybe it's a matter of taste; like, some people like wine, others don't.
Hmm, don't know. Guess it's like asking why people like baseball, or like playing video games. Just what you like ;) Or maybe it all goes back to that old phrase "you only hurt the ones you love" ...
