Think I'll finally realize Stargate Atlantis is toast, dead, gone, only on DVD, when Friday rolls around and I don't have to decide which to watch: SGA or Flashpoint. Now, I can watch Flashpoint with no problem, as Friday's no longer has anything on Sci Fi worth watching (I tried Battlestar Galactica several tilmes, but eh, just doesn't click. Maybe when it's done and over and I can just rent the DVDs and do marathons...) Anyway, in fact, there's not much on SciFi to watch. Period. Maybe a tacky, crappy scifi/horror/pitiful CGI monster flick if an actor I like shows up in one...

Anyway, was thinking, gee, what is on TV nowadays...
Monday... Big Bang Theory. A total hoot. David Hewlett must guest star in it. He must! He's the ultilmate geek character. Still watch CSI: Miami, probably in the way a person drives by a car wreck and gawks.
Tuesday: NCIS, Mentalist, Law & Order SVU (the latter if I bother to stay up late - it syndicates to much I can catch it anyway)
WednesdayCriminal Minds, here and there, and CSI: NY, which is now the best of the CSI
ThursdayUgly Betty, cuz it's cute; CSI (until it ends) and Eleventh Hour, which is turning out better than I thought it would, although I must remember to watch the very very last ER whenever that airs.
Friday: Oh hey, I can just wallow in Ghost Whisperer, delight in Flashpoint (wonder if it will become a cult hilt like Due South did years ago?), and then maybe flick over to Psych.
Saturday: Catch repeats of anything I didn't see, as Saturday is now rerun-alley on all the channels, I swear.
Sunday: There's something on TV on Sunday??

So, no new fandoms really, but I am enjoying Flashpoint just on its own merits. It's a cop show, there's a buddy aspect to it, Hugh Dillon is fantastic in it, Stargate Atlantis/SG1 actors have shown up in (Alisen Down, once on Mysterious Ways and as Dr. Brightman on an SG-1 ep, is on this week's episode as a hostage). I must admit I also like the fact that at least you know who the good guys are. So many shows now are so 'gray' - good guys torturing people, etc. that, well, I want one nice bit of fantasy. And hey, the Toronto locales, etc. and the cast, sure aren't hard to look at either ;)

Oh, took the plunge and pre-ordered the series 3 Stargate Atlantis Action Figures (with Ronon, another Sheppard, Carter, Teyla and a Wraith drone). Once they come, I can gear up on Action Figure Theater. Must also remember to find some cheap railroad tracks *evil cackle*

A Saskatchewan Screamer is headed this way. Apparently, according to a weather guy on TV, they name the Arctic blasts out of Canada according to which province they come from. Wonder what other names they've thought up? Anyway, it's down to single digits on Friday, and that's the static temp, before windchill kicks in. Must remember to toss out extra birdseed, etc. this week for the poor critters.

Hmm, can wild animals eat marshmallows?

Oh yeah, and I got my tickets for Comic Con! (February7th, the NYC one- wish I could afford the San Diego one!) Anyone else going to the NYC one?

I've been meaning to catch up with Flashpoint! Thanks for reminding me.

You can watch it all on CBS's website. I had to watch the first one of this season after the power company pulled the plug on us right when SGA and flashpoint began..

Well, you can check their schedule. The movie/tv stuff has yet to be loaded. It won't be like the San Diego one with actors galore, but the dealer's room is just incredible. I got my SGA action figures there last year and just roamed and roamed.

That would be amazing if David Hewlett was on The Big Bang Theory. I just recently got into that show and I love it, probably cause I get the geek references.

Amen. [points to icon]

I've really been enjoying Flashpoint. On the surface, it seems like just another cop show, but the writers and actors are giving the characters a lot more depth than you'd normally see.

I'd adoring Hugh Dillon, but I also like that his character has a very understanding wife. I like the simple fact that he's happily married, but it's icing to see a cop's spouse not portrayed as hating the job.

I've also been playing a lot of Canadian Actor Bingo, even though it's like shooting fish in a barrel, as it were. There were two actors from ReGenesis in the last episode, and I love that show.

Hmmm... really need to find a Flashpoint icon at some point.

I found this icon, but there aren't a lot out there yet for Flashpoint. As for Skiffy, eh...

Yeah to the new action figures. (Where did you pre-order them from?) I look forward to more adventures.

I watch THE UNIT on CBS on Sunday... it's a good mix of drama & action. And BONES...if you like David Boreanazx :) and LIFE (it's quirky) on NBC (when it returns), 24 & Leverage (on TNT). Can't wait for the return of EUREKA.

Of the entire batch, I do watch EUREKA, but have tried the rest and they haven't clicked, and Sunday nights at 10... oh, that's NPR time!

I was thinking of going to the NYCC. Maybe we could meet up? Are the new figures out yet? I got some SGA action figures there last year. Had a wonderful time lugging them home on the train.

I pre-ordered mine, thinking bakc to dragging the entire batch back from NYC Comic Con last year. Don't want to do that again. Hmm, yeah. Have you been to this con before? There will be literally thousands of folks there!

I was there last year for the first time. I wanted to get Seth Green's autograph. Unfortunately, you needed a ticket to get it and they were all gone by the time I got there via train from Philadelphia. Fortunately, I whined loudly and someone who had a extra ticket for a friend who didn't show was very kind and gave it to me. Seth was great, he signed a couple of things since you had to buy a related comic book item because he was at the publisher's booth. And I got a couple of good photos with him making a goofy face.

He's been to Wizard World in Philly several times but I've never been able to see him because he just blows in for an hour or two or he shows up on Friday and I'm working, or there aren't any tickets left for his Q&A session. Since Philly's his home town, I guess he always has other stuff to do.

I got to see his Q&A at the San Diego Comic Con, so twice in one year kinda makes up of all the times I was shut out. SDCC was a really last minute fluke. That con had over 120,000 vs the estimated 60,000 of NYCC.

I was hoping to see David Hewlett there since he went every other year Atlantis was on, but 2008 would be the year he decides to bow out. Oh well, I did get to see RDA.

Hmm, didn't see Seth down as a person you needed to buy a ticket for this time. He's probably the only actor so far at NY Comic COn I'd really like to walk up to and say "hi, love your work" as I can't do with the Fringe folk as I tried the show and went 'meh'.

I'll be glad to add Flashpoint. I watched it a few times and enjoyed it. I do like BSG so I'll be watching that too. I really enjoy The Mentalist too.

Have you checked out 24 this season? So far John Billingsly (best known as Dr. Phlox but also as Coombs on SG-1) and Peter Wingfield (Tannith, Tannis, whoever killed Teal'c's girlfriend) have guest starred. It seems that Stargate actor spotting is my new hobby. :D

Have you watched Leverage? It's on TNT. And The Closer returns for a few eps in a couple of weeks.

People recommend Leverage, so I may check it out. I tried "24" when it first came on but lost interest in it, just like with "Lost." So, I'll be happy with Flashpoint for now :)

Have no idea what's going on but it's just fun to go to and spend the entire day roaming a massive room. Maybe they'll have some Daleks for sale... :)

If they don't make a Woolsey action figure, you might want to get a doctor figure from Voyager. You'll have to paint a tie on him though.

I approve of your list. I sometimes watch Cold Case on Sundays. Have never seen Flashpoint. Maybe I'll check it out. The Mentalist is fast becoming my favorite show on air. The character interactions have really clicked with me.

I'm fairly sure I pre-ordered the Series 3 action figures...that's the problem with pre-orders. Sometimes I forget until the package arrives at my door. *g* I look forward to more Action Figure Theater.

Yeah, when they first announced the Mentalist, I was like, eh, won't last, but it's quite enjoyable.

Well, I kept dithering on, pre-order, buy at COmic Con, and then thought, gah, who wants to drag home all that in the snow? So I just pre-ordered. Of course, then they delay it!
