Yes, couches DO eat things. I was looking high and low for a small LED flashlight I'd gotten a while back. So, decided to take apart the couch (since it was messy from cat, dog, etc. being all over it) and lo and behold, the flashlight! Yes!

Meanwhile, thanks to MoRyan over the Chicago Tribune... In the Christmas episode of CBS' Big Bang Theory, Sheldon was bestowed with a dirty napkin - but it had been autographed by Leonard Nimoy. Ouch. Just read on Broadcasting & Cable that General Electric posted a 44% drop in 4Q results (which is better than some). GE is the parent of NBC Universal, and in turn, Sci Fi Channel is owned in there somewhere...

I have to admit that I really do not think that Collins is a hispanic name. Just hazarding a guess, but I don't think so... It might be one of those where they decided, let's go for hispanic, but never changed the name, so the name will change, and hopefully not Rodriguez, as it's like Smith on tv...

I didn't read all the spoilers, but it wouldn't surprise me on what you said on the last sentence.

I know 2 guys that are Hispanic (on the mother's side). Their last names are Young and Birch. Anything's possible these days.

Just read the spoilers... Still not interested to watch.
The more they leak, the less I seem to care about the "new" show (which I suspect more than ever only means : "recycling the old in hopes of making people believe it's new").

As for Collins, it's Bates at the beginning of SGA, just with a higher rank, once again, the originality and novelty of the characters is astounding :p.

I have a hypothesis.

Watching the Big Bang Theory or reading about the Big Bang Theory or thinking about the Big Bang Theory or knowing about the Big Bang Theory before knowing about Stargate Universe makes one long and yearn for that same calibre of awesomeness to be replicated by TPTB of Stargate.

It's a work in progress, but it's promising.

Being from Texas and knowing a few Hispanics, it's still a little different hearing Collins as Hispanic. Not unheard of, but certainly different.
