Anyway, got one of those today, in fact, from Haagen-Daaz, the ice cream folk. Now their stuff is great - but incredibly fattening - and today an email came with new flavors and oh, look, you can punch in the flavor, your zip code, and voila, find out where to buy it!

http://haagendazs.com/flavor_finder/default.aspx

so I go, oooh.... Baileys Irish Cream ice cream! What? I gotta leave the state to buy it?! And I click flavor after flavor (the more exotic interesting one) and well, no one locally stocks it. Bummer :(

Meanwhile, read in the news that two nuclear submarines ran into each other. HOW can you run two subs together, well, unless they're plastic toys and you're re-enacting an Irwin Allen scifi show... ??? Love how this happened about ten days ago but it only broke the news today...

Concerning the submarines : they were both doing exercises in "stealth" mode, so the fact that they ran into each other at least proves that yes, their stealth mode works perfectly well ! Mwahahahahahah (by the way, it's true even if a bit ridiculous; you would think that the British and French could communicate better on this type of things :p).

Guess the stealth does work! ;) But the Brits and French communicating? Nah...

Lol! reading [livejournal.com profile] lysambre comment, It is true that France and Britain could communicate better, considering that they are neighbors

But the Tracking thing doesn't work here. Oh well:P

That's cruel, teasing you with flavours you can't get locally! I think I can get the Irish Cream one at a supermarket near here (UK!), but to be honest it's so long since I allowed myself the indulgence it could have disappeared from the freezers by now for all I know! I love Irish Cream - there used to be a cheesecake available a while back, but I've not seen it around for ages now (which is probably good for my waist!!). Not so good for my waist is the Bailey's Caramel Irish Cream liquor - I have to ration myself with that - but I think I'll have a glass tonight!!

And yeah, the subs - one British and one French. Apparently we don't share the same detailed and classified information with our European neighbours that we do with the US! Hmm, why doesn't that surprise me?! Though it does prove that the anti-detection devices work!

Yeah, I can get plain flavors and some flavors I don't care about, but there was one they had - a limited edition German Chocolate Cake - ah, to die for! ;)

OMG, I've had that ice cream. It's AMAZING. They sell it here at Downtown Disney. :D (Funny side note, while I was waiting in line once, I overheard the clerks arguing about whether or not the alcohol taste was real or just flavoring, and whether or not they were supposed to card people. :P)

Re: Bailey's ice cream - had it when it came out here as a test flavor and it was awesome, especially with a tad of dark chocolate sauce on it.

Re: sub crash - BBC has had it in the news for the past few days. I've found they tend to have things far before the local news (though one station here seems to be checking them as they are usually only a day behind instead of 3 or 4 like the others).

Haven't checked the BBC site for a few days (ah that explains things). Hmm, Baileys with chocolate. Yum.

On the sub crash: The British sub was undergoing exercises based on NATO tracking information. France is not a part of NATO and refuses to provide NATO with any information as to where their active military assets are.

Basically, France refuses to play with the rest of us and then gets mad if something happens.

Sorry, I'm retired US military and it always frosts my cookies when someone doesn't want to 'work and play well' with the other kids, but then hollers bloody murder if they want your help.

Very expensive crunch on the Navy's part, not to mention on the tax payers!

I don't think the flavor finder widget actually works -- it shows no stores carrying plain old chocolate within 50 miles of New Haven, which I know for a fact is false.

I'll have to check my local stores. If not there, maybe I'll just the real baileys!

Flavor widg thingy works, but doesn't include the store I usually buy my Baileys ice cream or the Rum Raisin.

Also doesn't include the store 1/2 mile from my house, go figure.
