Date: 2009-03-07 05:03 am (UTC)I only managed to catch the back half of the episode, but I liked what I saw. This show continues to be consistently good week in and week out and then every so often (like last week) it hits you with an outstanding episode. I'm not disappointed at all.
Although, poor Ed. How many more people is he going to have to kill? Every time he shoots someone I'm reminded of the episode with the ex-SRU officer and it breaks my heart. Sadness.
Also, I miss the lack of Jules days.
And I'd rather TPTB not go down the route of Donna saving Sam's life. They've managed to avoid very many cliches up to this point. Let's avoid this one too, please.
One more thing, more Spike.
That is all.

Date: 2009-03-07 01:41 pm (UTC)Yeah, I do miss Jules too, although I do like Jessica Steen, but her character didn't have much to do this episode, which I think was predominantly a Greg episode.

Date: 2009-03-07 05:18 am (UTC)I'm finding it slightly amusing that Sam is the one being all emo about Jules not being there. Most shows would have the genders reversed for that to happen.
Makes me wonder how he would be reacting if a guy had been added to the team. Much the same? Does it just add some extra sting to see another woman on the team?
I'm also wondering how they're going to transistion back to Jules being on the team again. There wasn't any mention of Donna's job being temporary, so it would seem like a demotion for her if she worked this hard and got bumped out because Jules can come back to work.
Would Donna get transferred to another team (which would work for me, because she could still guest star from time to time)? Will she decide it's not for her and leave on her own?

Date: 2009-03-07 04:09 pm (UTC)Since we've been seeing what many would consider a "macho man" in the form of Sam getting all emo, it could also be interesting to have Donna leave because she can't break out of the macho cop mindset. If that's the reason, she could request a transfer or be persuaded into it by Greg.

Date: 2009-03-07 04:19 pm (UTC)They're showing consequences of being involved with a co-worker, especially in close working team like this, which is something that's normally glossed over in the name of "twu luv" winning all.
I'm thinking Ed will lay down the law next week. Sam has potentially compromised his work by being involved with Jules, and he's making it worse by not working well (or at all) with Donna.

Date: 2009-03-08 02:28 am (UTC)Another show that's been dealing with an inter-office relationship (and one that goes very sour) is The Closer. Have you been watching that one?
I think you'd like it, and the way the other characters are dealing (or not) with the relationship and later break-up like it's an elephant in the room seems pretty realistic.

Date: 2009-03-08 02:32 am (UTC)It would be believable, based on what we've seen of the team in action. If Sam doesn't wise up on his own, then Ed and the rest of the team will smack some sense into him. They have to if the team is going to continue to do their job.
