Just a status. Got an order form and thought I'd share the tidbits.

The following books are now out of stock at www.stargatenovels.com - which probably means they're out of print.

SG-1 #6 SIREN SONG
SG-1 #7 SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST

SGA #3 THE CHOSEN
SGA #4 HALCYON
SGA #5 EXOGENESIS

That sucks. I've never found them locally so always order from the publisher. In fact, the latest order sheet they sent me has Angelus listed already...

its costs so much for delivery that's why i always tried to do local or amazon.ca

if they don't come by summer i might try and order them from the publisher

Yeah, I'm in the States so it's easier. I figure the price of postage is what I'll pay in gas for a round trip a few towns over to find it in a store! ;)

yeah i usually got to pay more for delivery

This site might be of help.

http://www.waterstones.com/waterstonesweb/simpleSearch.do?simpleSearchString=Stargate+Atlantis&searchType=0&Image1.x=0&Image1.y=0

If not you could get a used copy from Amazon.

Might be helpful for fans seeking those copies. So far, I have all the SGA books :)

That is why I posted it.

And I have all of them as well. Can't wait for the next two to come out.

I have all the SGA ones - Barnes & Noble carries them but you have to special order. Now I need to go check which SG-1 ones I'm missing. To tell you the truth, the fanfics out there are better than the novels :)

So far none of the novels have made me go "gah!" and want to toss them across the room. I find most an easy read and most are enjoyable. A couple have been 'meh' and yes, some fanfic writers work surpass the novels!

I finally got my copy of SGA #10 (I think that's the number) from Amazon. I really need to check out that site you listed.

The publisher has been the best way for me to order. They take charge cards, checks, and they're quick.

I only have got "The Chosen". The rest is unavailable everywhere and used it costs 40 pounds at least and that's just crazy. It really irks me.

I sent them an email and asked about the availability - I especially want the SGA books. They told me that yes, these books are out of print but they are exploring other ways to make them available, like through kindle - which is moot for me since I don't have kindle *sigh*

40 pounds?! That's insane. I know that to do a reprint means making thousands of copies, which isn't cost efficient for a TV tie-in.

It it stupid for my non-English brain to ask what 'through kindle' means? :o

It's a nearly $400 electronic reader. You can google it and probably find a lot on it.

*Googles*

WTF?

Better just let people buy it for a few bucks in .pdf format, or something. Though I still very much want to feel a book in my hands/lap when I'm reading.

Thanks for the reply. :-)

As wraithfodder said, it's a special electronic reader and as far as I know, kindle books are specifically made for this reader, you can't read them on your computer, PDA or any other sort of readers - but that's just as far as I know, it could be possible.

I don't even think I heard of a Kindle till a month or so ago. I'm so in the technological dark age ;)

Barns and Noble and Borders have them but they have to be ordered. They don't really keep them in stock. I inquired at Barns and Noble and the books are on list to come out.

I had inquired via Borders on a couple SGA books but no one had them. Definitely no longer avaialble.

Barnes & Noble have listings of SGA 3-12. They tell you to search their dealer network (probably can search for 1-2 as well) for 3-5, but 6-10 are listed in stock but not in store and 11-12 are not out yet.

I used to those three SGA novels, but after trying to read one or two of them and hating it (I think it was mostly Halcyon that I disliked), I gave them away to other fans. I'm not such a big reader anyways, but I do have a lot of Doctor Who novels (and some older novelizations as well). I liked them far better than the SGA ones I tried to read. Anyways, just my random opinion :-)

no problem. I haven't tried the WHO books yet as they're so darned expensive!

I want Halcyon and Exogenesis, but I'm not into the books that long yet, so basically by the time I started ordering, those two were gone... :(

Perhaps every site should put up a link to a petition-like thing, and an 'only sign if you plan on buying the books when they're being reprinted' at the top of it.

I'm reading Reliquary at the moment.

Hmm, I just checked the site of my country that has the books.

It says Siren song is in reprint, and might still have Survival of the Fittest.

Of course, until I tried ordering Halcyon a second time, it also said that it still had that book, so...

I have three of the SGA novels: Blood Ties, Mirror Mirror and Nightfall (the newest one). I haven't started on Nightfall yet, but so far I haven't been disappointed with any of the SGA books.

So far I've liked them all. Some have been better than others but none have been "gah, I spent money on this?" which I have said with some books, which is why I rarely buy fiction.

I really enjoyed both Martha Wells SGA novels: Reliquary and Entanglement. I wish they'd get her to write another!
