Goodbye Atlantis - 4:25 15.9MB - Executive Producer Joseph Mallozzi says goodbye to Atlantis. Watch it in real time - only on SCI FI.

Okay, read some comments about it on GW, then watched it and well, yeah, the folks were right... well, it's got David Hewlett's last day, Jason Momoa's last day, RAchel Luttrell, Jewel Staite, and hello? I sorta recall some guy named Joe Flanigan throughout the entire series?? So I guess Joe M isn't going to miss him? It just seems, well, tacky, not to include the leading actor of the show in the goodbye. I seriously doubt they'd have done that to RDA (well, considering he was a producer, no they wouldn't).

So if you're watching for Joe Flanigan, once the scene atop the gate is over, that's basically it for Joe except far shots, but gad, so weird he's not even mentioned!

I'm not surprised. JM has had a chip on his shoulder since the begining of season 5 when JF asked him to not take as many photos of the actors on the set because it was bothering them.

As much as fans speculate, sure seems to be something behind it. I dropped a post on JM's blog but doubt I'll get a reply, but can't hurt.

I guess JM isn't even trying to hide his feelings for JF, but geez, producers lie all the time about how much they love their actors. He couldn't think of anything nice, like Joe F has lovely taste in French food, or something?? It just pisses people off. Sigh.

MGM should have inserted a line or two of praise for JF, even if Mallozzi couldn't bring himself to do it.
Very unprofessional of the MGM people, IMHO.

I know I might get some flak when I say this, but Mallozzi appeared to me to be more interested in himself than decent storylines etc.
I wonder if the Flan gave him a ration and he has seen fit to
snub him......so be it.....
I figure his loss
The Flan was the ~~ONLY~~ reason why I watched it......
I would never consider it had Browder played Sheppard as they originally envisioned; just the trailers I saw of the pilot were enough to interest me once they tagged Flanigan and I had never seen him before.
OK let's back track a bit.......I do have to admit that
once Jason came on board my attention picked up a bit
>:-)
I remember dropping Mallozzi a note to tell him how badly they
handled one military thing.......I had the affront to ask them if they had any military adviser on board.....I mean Sheppard is after all a LTCOL in the UNITED STATES Air Force, on loan to SGC.
No reply of course....I guess realism was not part of his continuing litany........
Finally, what kind of got me was how so many fans just hung on every word he uttered........sad IMO

It is in such bad taste to *DIS* the lead actor like JM did in those vids.

All it did was show what a PETTY man JMoloz is to let his PERSONAL feelings for a man ruin 5 years worth of knowing someone as an actor and having him as a lead character..

I hope he gets a TON of flack over this!

JM shows just how unprofessional, childish and classless he really is. How sad to go out of his way to not mention the lead of the series. He should take a lesson from JFlan on how to conduct yourself. Joe F. might have criticized some of the episodes, but I've never seen him say anything derogatory personally against Mallozzi. I'm with the voodoo curse on SGU.

This is ridiculous. I don't care how you feel about your cast but you don't do something so blatant. That's just rude. Now, I'm really thinking we're not going to get that SGA movie or we will without certain actors. Although after watching that video, a scene from The Mummy came to mind; where Evelyn tells Beni: "You know, nasty little fellows such as yourself always get their comeuppance. Always." LOL I don't know that Joe is a saint but so far he's coming out ahead just by being quiet.

we're not going to get that SGA movie

I am not holding my breath
IMO Mallozzi is so small and petty that a film involving an JFlan, and his character, who he obviously has dismissed, would not be worthy of his time.......
I mean if he will not even dignify him enough for his 'farewell', then why would he spend an inordinate amount of time in featuring him in a SGA film?
HOWEVER,
I love how Amanda got the nod for her own show after waltzing through SGA just long enough.
The only satisfaction I had was when Ronon squared her away......
and
frankly, I was surprised to see that.
but it did my heart good......

You know I've got to say, if JM had trouble handling JF and maybe some others in SGA he's going to be run right over by Robert Carlyle. A big name star who's worked on big budget movies with other big name stars, no matter how sweet the man may be personally, isn't going to put up with that kind of business from JM or any of the other PTB. He's been to the 'big city', Stargate's the small town compared to a Bond flick. LOL.

I agree, that it is VERY obvious that there is something between Mr. M and Mr. F

But then (just for playing devil's advocate): Mallozzi wasn't present on Joe F's wrap day since that was in Las Vegas.

But still, some footage and some decent words should always be possible. In such a great and very special family which they are *cough*.

The thing is that, they could have just filmed something, or even mentioned his name. As after all, it was a goodbye to atlantis, not goodbye to 4 out of 5 of the cast. weird.

If it wasn't for the fact that I know I would regret it, I would'nt even bother with buying Season five of Atlantis because it sucked so badly for all of the old cast - Joe, David and Rachel - and most of da suck was M's fault.

I am so totally not touching SG 90210 with a 100 foot cattle prod, and I'll send plenty of energy to whoever wants to do that voodoo curse on it. That show needs to die before it's out of it's first season. *gags*

I agree. But anyone who knows me knows I have my own issues with JM. He certainly can't make himself more obvious. I personally don't care if he and Flan don't get along, but man up and be a professional. Everytime he disses JoeF he disrespects the FANS as well. He just doesnt f***ing get it.

He just keeps emphasizing what a small man he really is. Look we all have people we do not get along sometimes, but to be so blatantly obvious about it is plain childish. Then again, JM strikes me as a childish petulant human anyway.

Oh Dear.... I always thought there was something wrong behind the scenes. Just because JF gradually lost the *spark* he had at the beginning of the series. And it turned from acting out a great character... to just saying the lines to get it over with. At least that was my impression.

But this... wow... I think JM outdid himself this time. The lead character and is not even mentioned.... *shakes head*

I won't be tuning in to SGU, I no longer have cable and if I did... I think I would skip it. Why invest my time on something that could ultimately make me very mad at tptb... again. No thank you.

I think with those thoughtless actions of JMOL he pretty much killed the movie...*Or* he will not care if Joe is not in it. If Joe isn't in it then I bet Jason won't be in it and I bet that if Jason or Joe are not in it then David will not want to give up any time from Starcrossed to be in it and Rachel would not want to be there by herself!
Maybe this was a sneaky way of JMol to slither out of actually MAKING a SGA movie if none of the actors want to do the movie, then they save a but load by not having to make the movie!

~~slither out of MAKING a SGA movie~~

I don't think he is that smart given his pathetically
small mind regarding any sort of constructive comments which may have been made, not only perhaps by Joe, but by some of SGA fans. I mentioned earlier a note I had sent him regarding his portrayal of a military officer. I am certain it was totally dismissed. I grew up around it and was an active duty Navy line officer. If you are going to portray a military officer, and I don't give a flying fig that he is in Pegasus, he IS still a LTCOL USAF, then do it right!!!
Finally.......
I still contend that it is difficult for someone like Joe to kowtow when the object is so small.
~~LOL~~
