New MGM video on Stargate Atlantis
Mar. 16th, 2009 07:15 pmhttp://stargate.mgm.com/video.php?id=194 contains the video
Goodbye Atlantis - 4:25 15.9MB - Executive Producer Joseph Mallozzi says goodbye to Atlantis. Watch it in real time - only on SCI FI.
Okay, read some comments about it on GW, then watched it and well, yeah, the folks were right... well, it's got David Hewlett's last day, Jason Momoa's last day, RAchel Luttrell, Jewel Staite, and hello? I sorta recall some guy named Joe Flanigan throughout the entire series?? So I guess Joe M isn't going to miss him? It just seems, well, tacky, not to include the leading actor of the show in the goodbye. I seriously doubt they'd have done that to RDA (well, considering he was a producer, no they wouldn't).
So if you're watching for Joe Flanigan, once the scene atop the gate is over, that's basically it for Joe except far shots, but gad, so weird he's not even mentioned!

Date: 2009-03-17 12:11 am (UTC)I wonder if the Flan gave him a ration and he has seen fit to
snub him......so be it.....
I figure his loss
The Flan was the ~~ONLY~~ reason why I watched it......
I would never consider it had Browder played Sheppard as they originally envisioned; just the trailers I saw of the pilot were enough to interest me once they tagged Flanigan and I had never seen him before.
OK let's back track a bit.......I do have to admit that
once Jason came on board my attention picked up a bit
>:-)
I remember dropping Mallozzi a note to tell him how badly they
handled one military thing.......I had the affront to ask them if they had any military adviser on board.....I mean Sheppard is after all a LTCOL in the UNITED STATES Air Force, on loan to SGC.
No reply of course....I guess realism was not part of his continuing litany........
Finally, what kind of got me was how so many fans just hung on every word he uttered........sad IMO

Date: 2009-03-17 01:50 am (UTC)All it did was show what a PETTY man JMoloz is to let his PERSONAL feelings for a man ruin 5 years worth of knowing someone as an actor and having him as a lead character..
I hope he gets a TON of flack over this!

Date: 2009-03-17 04:19 am (UTC)we're not going to get that SGA movie
Date: 2009-03-17 05:21 am (UTC)IMO Mallozzi is so small and petty that a film involving an JFlan, and his character, who he obviously has dismissed, would not be worthy of his time.......
I mean if he will not even dignify him enough for his 'farewell', then why would he spend an inordinate amount of time in featuring him in a SGA film?
HOWEVER,
I love how Amanda got the nod for her own show after waltzing through SGA just long enough.
The only satisfaction I had was when Ronon squared her away......
and
frankly, I was surprised to see that.
but it did my heart good......

Date: 2009-03-17 05:42 am (UTC)guests but wanted to keep Atlantis and SG1 separate
Bet that went over like a lead balloon with someone who
is obviously into the control mode as Mallozzi is, was,
whatever the case.............

Date: 2009-03-17 08:17 am (UTC)But then (just for playing devil's advocate): Mallozzi wasn't present on Joe F's wrap day since that was in Las Vegas.
But still, some footage and some decent words should always be possible. In such a great and very special family which they are *cough*.

Date: 2009-03-17 12:59 pm (UTC)I am so totally not touching SG 90210 with a 100 foot cattle prod, and I'll send plenty of energy to whoever wants to do that voodoo curse on it. That show needs to die before it's out of it's first season. *gags*

I won't be tuning in to SGU, I no longer have cable and if I did... I think I would skip it. Why invest my time on something that could ultimately make me very mad at tptb... again. No thank you.
JF gradually lost the *spark*
Date: 2009-03-17 06:41 pm (UTC)It became more and more clear to me that
the light gradually faded
It was why I feel that no matter what script they
were handed, and some of it was pretty terrible,
it was not there anymore........

Date: 2009-03-17 10:13 pm (UTC)Maybe this was a sneaky way of JMol to slither out of actually MAKING a SGA movie if none of the actors want to do the movie, then they save a but load by not having to make the movie!
~~slither out of MAKING a SGA movie~~
Date: 2009-03-17 10:36 pm (UTC)small mind regarding any sort of constructive comments which may have been made, not only perhaps by Joe, but by some of SGA fans. I mentioned earlier a note I had sent him regarding his portrayal of a military officer. I am certain it was totally dismissed. I grew up around it and was an active duty Navy line officer. If you are going to portray a military officer, and I don't give a flying fig that he is in Pegasus, he IS still a LTCOL USAF, then do it right!!!
Finally.......
I still contend that it is difficult for someone like Joe to kowtow when the object is so small.
~~LOL~~
