Goodbye Atlantis - 4:25 15.9MB - Executive Producer Joseph Mallozzi says goodbye to Atlantis. Watch it in real time - only on SCI FI.

Okay, read some comments about it on GW, then watched it and well, yeah, the folks were right... well, it's got David Hewlett's last day, Jason Momoa's last day, RAchel Luttrell, Jewel Staite, and hello? I sorta recall some guy named Joe Flanigan throughout the entire series?? So I guess Joe M isn't going to miss him? It just seems, well, tacky, not to include the leading actor of the show in the goodbye. I seriously doubt they'd have done that to RDA (well, considering he was a producer, no they wouldn't).

So if you're watching for Joe Flanigan, once the scene atop the gate is over, that's basically it for Joe except far shots, but gad, so weird he's not even mentioned!

JM shows just how unprofessional, childish and classless he really is. How sad to go out of his way to not mention the lead of the series. He should take a lesson from JFlan on how to conduct yourself. Joe F. might have criticized some of the episodes, but I've never seen him say anything derogatory personally against Mallozzi. I'm with the voodoo curse on SGU.

This is ridiculous. I don't care how you feel about your cast but you don't do something so blatant. That's just rude. Now, I'm really thinking we're not going to get that SGA movie or we will without certain actors. Although after watching that video, a scene from The Mummy came to mind; where Evelyn tells Beni: "You know, nasty little fellows such as yourself always get their comeuppance. Always." LOL I don't know that Joe is a saint but so far he's coming out ahead just by being quiet.

Y'know, I was considering warning Mallozzi that someone is selling his candid photos from the set on ebay. Now...meh, maybe I won't. Ass.

Joe M is a jerk and I hope he falls on that pointy nose of his and breaks it. The Wuss!

we're not going to get that SGA movie

I am not holding my breath
IMO Mallozzi is so small and petty that a film involving an JFlan, and his character, who he obviously has dismissed, would not be worthy of his time.......
I mean if he will not even dignify him enough for his 'farewell', then why would he spend an inordinate amount of time in featuring him in a SGA film?
HOWEVER,
I love how Amanda got the nod for her own show after waltzing through SGA just long enough.
The only satisfaction I had was when Ronon squared her away......
and
frankly, I was surprised to see that.
but it did my heart good......

Yeah, its called asserting yourself and apparently
all is fine as long as there is a significant amount of kowtowing.
Maybe JFlan has a problem doing that. It is hard
to kowtow to someone who is so small

Damn straight! I give JF lotts of credit for putting up with that primadona for the last 5 years. What a horses butt he is! What goes around comes around and I hope he gets his in spades when it does!

I guess Joe said that he would not mind SG1 as 'visiting'
guests but wanted to keep Atlantis and SG1 separate
Bet that went over like a lead balloon with someone who
is obviously into the control mode as Mallozzi is, was,
whatever the case.............

You know I've got to say, if JM had trouble handling JF and maybe some others in SGA he's going to be run right over by Robert Carlyle. A big name star who's worked on big budget movies with other big name stars, no matter how sweet the man may be personally, isn't going to put up with that kind of business from JM or any of the other PTB. He's been to the 'big city', Stargate's the small town compared to a Bond flick. LOL.

I agree, that it is VERY obvious that there is something between Mr. M and Mr. F

But then (just for playing devil's advocate): Mallozzi wasn't present on Joe F's wrap day since that was in Las Vegas.

But still, some footage and some decent words should always be possible. In such a great and very special family which they are *cough*.

If it had been worded differently, I'd accept it better, but it came across as 'we're sorry we pissed off the fan base so much, but please watch us.' sorry, horse out of barn, too late to shut door. ;)

The thing is that, they could have just filmed something, or even mentioned his name. As after all, it was a goodbye to atlantis, not goodbye to 4 out of 5 of the cast. weird.

If it wasn't for the fact that I know I would regret it, I would'nt even bother with buying Season five of Atlantis because it sucked so badly for all of the old cast - Joe, David and Rachel - and most of da suck was M's fault.

I am so totally not touching SG 90210 with a 100 foot cattle prod, and I'll send plenty of energy to whoever wants to do that voodoo curse on it. That show needs to die before it's out of it's first season. *gags*

I agree. But anyone who knows me knows I have my own issues with JM. He certainly can't make himself more obvious. I personally don't care if he and Flan don't get along, but man up and be a professional. Everytime he disses JoeF he disrespects the FANS as well. He just doesnt f***ing get it.

He just keeps emphasizing what a small man he really is. Look we all have people we do not get along sometimes, but to be so blatantly obvious about it is plain childish. Then again, JM strikes me as a childish petulant human anyway.

I have followed many genre shows throughout my geek life but have yet to come across such ego I've seen and continue to see from TPTB of the Stargate franchise. I tried to brush it off with that "well they are the creative types and it's natural they behave this way" but that could only do so much. The DVD specials and commentaries are evidence how TPTB think it's ALL about them and the fans will eat up whatever garbage they dish out.

I don't know about anyone else but I watched SGA for the actors and how they managed to salvage the show week after week with superb acting. Without Flanigan, Hewlett, Luttrell, and Momoa, the team dynamics would cease to exist and most of us would've thrown in the towel when Keller was backwardly forced upon us. >.>

Sorry about the rambling. I'll go back to the voodoo curse now!

Oh Dear.... I always thought there was something wrong behind the scenes. Just because JF gradually lost the *spark* he had at the beginning of the series. And it turned from acting out a great character... to just saying the lines to get it over with. At least that was my impression.

But this... wow... I think JM outdid himself this time. The lead character and is not even mentioned.... *shakes head*

I won't be tuning in to SGU, I no longer have cable and if I did... I think I would skip it. Why invest my time on something that could ultimately make me very mad at tptb... again. No thank you.

JF gradually lost the *spark*

thanks for putting so succinctly......
It became more and more clear to me that
the light gradually faded
It was why I feel that no matter what script they
were handed, and some of it was pretty terrible,
it was not there anymore........
