Snippet from Brad Wright / Robert C Cooper interview:

http://gateworld.net/interviews/an_expanding_universe.shtml

excerpt:

GW: Great. The Atlantis movie then: Is that a little bit more pushed back? Is it looking at maybe 2010?

BW: No, Paul [Mullie] and Joe [Mallozzi] are writing the script, and it's just a question of which one we can proceed with first. There are issues, as there always are. But there have been a few changes in the way the world works right now, especially in terms of DVD sales.

They're tap dancing again. I hate corporate speak. You dig through that interview and what you get is that the sure thing SG1 movie is not a sure thing and they haven't signed RDA. The script for SGA maybe done but they don't know if they're doing it this year and part of that reasoning, I'd bet the farm on this, is that the financing from all parties is not a sure thing because 'someone' wants to see if these guys can make SGU work. In other words, I have the sneaking suspicion that it isn't just the fans that are on the receiving side of the 'hard sell' from BW and RC concerning SGU. If they stumble badly with SGU then I'm not sure that they're going to be trusted with more money etc for SGA or possible even the SG1 movie. Just MHO but it sure sounds like spin to me and there shouldn't be any need for that yet, should there?

Yup. I'm not getting why people say the SG1 movie is a done deal. Until it's greenlit and contracts signed, it's just 'almost'. I think they're spinning cuz it's not a 100% done deal and they want to appease the fans.
