Yes, their secret is out!

While stuffing the turkey, I let the EUREKA marathon run, which of course subjected me to ads for their new shows: "The Lost Room" and "Dresden Files."

Their secret? They've done away with razors. Yes, all the new heroes are looking like Sonny Crockett of the old MIAMI VICE series. Perpetual razor stubble. Think of the money the network can save by doing away with shaving cream, razors, bandaids (for when they nick themselves shaving!)

Silly sarcasm mode off ;:)

*lol* Can I ask what The Dresden Files is looking like? I've read a couple of the books and am curious - it's either going to be very good or truly awful.

Dark. Visually dark, and sorta Blade Runnerish in that respect. The thing is I don't think that it's really indistinguishable from many other scifi movies I've seen. Since I'm barely watching SciFi these days except for Dr. Who, unless they show an ad with it, I might not see another ad for a while.

I'll check out the show. I always check out the first one to see if it's worth watching.

LOL!! Well, personally, I like the scruffy, unshaven look, so I don't have a problem with it.

And since you mentioned the commercial for The Dresden Files, do you know when it's going to be on? I love the books and want to see if the show's any good, even though James Marsters ended up not being in it as was rumored at one point.

Um, er....wow, shows how much I paid attention to the ad. I think they're going to slot it on the Friday night time period. Might have something on www.scifi.com

Thanks for the info. Hmm, I wonder if it'll get shown over here at all. Were they really considering James Marsters? Not for the title role surely. Harry Dresden's meant to be tall for one thing. *lol* I'll see if I can find anything on scifi.com though that website doesn't like dial-up users. Grrr!

Unfortunately SCiFi.com IS unfriendly toward dial-up folk. I know it myself! Meanwhile, if you visit www.imdb.com (more friendly) and search for Dresden Files, you'll pull up casting. I didn't see James Marsters mentioned in the cast. Paul Blackthorne is the lead - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0085860/ - Ah if you google James Marsters, it appears he's narrated some Dresden Files audiobooks!

I'm not sure how seriously he was being considered. I'm on a couple of James Marsters related Yahoo lists and it might have just been wishful thinking by a bunch of fans, including me. I do remember reading at one point, though, that Jim Butcher liked the idea of casting JM in the role. Unfortunately, Jim Butcher isn't a studio executive, tv writer, producer, etc, etc, so even if he did like the idea, it probably didn't make much of a difference when it came time to cast the series.

I have no idea who Paul Blackthorne is, but I'm willing to at least give the show a shot. I love the books, so hopefully they won't screw it up.
