Darn, I'm in the wrong country. Wrong coast. Oh well.

David Hewlett will appear in Point Roberts, Washington as the grand marshal of their parade.

Full details on the parade can be found at http://www.allpointbulletin.com/front_page8.html

The theme will be “An Outer Space Fantasy,” and leading the parade will be grand marshal David Hewlett, better known for his role as Dr. Rodney McKay in the Sci-fi television series Stargate Atlantis. The parade starts at the foot of Gulf Road at noon and will move east along Gulf Road and down Tyee Drive to the marina overflow parking lot.

You can also check out http://billieo.blogmaestro.com/2009/06/18/stargates-david-hewlett-as-grand-marshal-of-parade/ for details on the Vancouver Stargate meetup. Apparently David's going to be signing autographs, etc.

--thanks to, er, uh, darn, someone left a comment for me and now I don't know who it was, but thanks! :)

I used to live in McLean when I was renting, but could not afford to buy there so I live in Sterling. I still work in McLean though, so I'm jealous. I would love to commute by bike!

I know a real estate broker that specializes in distressed Loudoun properties. She could find you a nice cheap home out here if you were still interested.

gracias, but I realized when I was looking at those I don't really have the cash monies to rehab anything either. It's a shame because you can get some great deals right now.

By distressed I mean in forclosure or close to it and desperate. The houses aren't necessarily in bad shape, just the owners.

We were just very lucky to be needing a house 17 years ago instead of these days. Back then Loudoun was dirt cheap.

Wow, Loudoun must have been WILDERNESS back then.

Anyway, I ended up just signing another year on my lease, but I'm probably going to at least take a quick look at the market next year depending on what things look like.

Wilderness no. Farmland yes. At first I was unhappy because there was nothing here. Then they built a few things like a Staples and a movie theater and I was happy. Now they've overbuilt it and we miss the old days.
