First, a screencap of Joe Flanigan from the SyFy trailer ("Bigger mysteries") for WAREHOUSE 13.

You can drool for a moment. If you cannot view the trailer, this is it. THere was no dialogue, just a very quick 1-2 second shot of Joe and well, you can stare at this just as easily. The rest is under the cut....

Oh, and more caps at http://nakedwesley.livejournal.com/146100.html

Well, it's light entertainment. It's a mixture of Raiders of the Lost Ark (as in the huge warehouse), X-Files (paranormal stuff), Friday the 13th the Series (older guy, young guy, young woman, taking potentially bad things out of hands of public and sequesting them), and The Librarian (light-hearted retrieval stuff). Anyway, the show is nothing really new under the sun, and the only true draw for me was Saul Rubinek , whom I've watched in movies and stuff for decades.

I think this New York Post reivew (http://www.nypost.com/seven/07072009/tv/shlock_absorber_177944.htm) sums up one flaw in the writing...

One day, two other secret agents who are (you're kidding!) polar opposites -- Pete Latimer (Eddie McClintock) and Myka Bering (Joanne Kelly) -- find themselves assigned by a boss they've never met (CCH Pounder), who only speaks in ironies, to work at this mad outpost in the barren hills.

They are chosen because Pete is very supernaturally sensitive and Myka's got "a scrupulous eye for detail." This, mind you, after she missed a guy with a knife, bleeding eyes and a glowing head sculpture while the president of the United States was walking into a museum. Call me a cynic, but I think even as a non-working secret agent, I would have noticed a glowing skull and a man with a bleeding eyes holding a knife.

so, yeah, even I noticed that, but I couldn't help but copy the sarcasm from the newspaper. I mean, the guy/villain was sweating bullets and i today's contagion-phobic society, surely someone would have gone "eek, swine flu!" The best part of the pilot was Artie (Saul Rubinek) and his warehouse of stuff, and there seem to be lots of fans of the 'steampunk' stuff (I just call it 'old-fashioned'). the two leads are, um, er, they're okay. Characters are nothing out of the ordinary (although I enjoyed that she kept the ferret she conjured up). The show has potential as a light-hearted X-Files but... it's not 'must see' TV. If I miss an episode ,no big deal (unless it's the one with Joe Flanigan!!)

However, since this show will end its run before the Fall season, there's no real competition that I can think of, so I'll probably tune in, or at least record for later viewing.

Did you see those blood shot eyes? Imagine what it took to
create that........
I had no idea it was just a summer replacement;
A replacement for what??????
SGU in the fall, which I have NO intention of watching????
To watch it IMO, validates the horse manure they shoveled at
the cast of SGA and their fans, e.g.
someone like meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
who is still ticked off.

The bloodshot eyes on the guy might have been computer generated, or else full contacts, which can be downright uncomfy. As for summer replacement, not sure WHAT, unless they mean for a Stargate show. I'll give SGu a looksee, and despite liking some cast, the whole premise and visual style isn't screaming "must see." :(

I admit the trailer during warehouse 13 was intriguing and made me curious but since I am not in their "target audience" I may not go beyond the pilot lol

I forgot about the "Friday the 13th" and "Raiders" thoughts when I watched. I thought of "X Files" and for some reason, "Supernatural". I actually started wishing for someone like Joe Flanigan as the lead to give it an edge.

Like you said, no big deal if you miss an episode. I'll watch, though, when i remember that it's on.

I'd love to see Joe get the lead on a new show and I honestly wouldn't mind a scifi show...

It was supposedly the highest rated show on cable last night and beat out even Fox! LOL Of course highest rated meant 3.5 million people but it may make more when the DVR numbers are taken into account. It's light and fluffy and that's about as much 'scifi/fantasy/horror' as most people want to see on a TV show. I just wish I liked the leads but they're meh. I'm sure it'll make a good pair up for Eureka though.

Yeah, saw the press release on the ratings. Considering the amount of money dumped into publicity (magazine ads, etc.) it's not too much of a surprise ;)

I liked the show more than I had expected. As a ferret owner, I loved the fact there was a fuzzy in the show, especially one that looks like my Draco!

I'm excited to see Tricia Helfer on next weeks episode (love her) and to see Joe again.

Gotta admit, the ferret was cute, and loved the idea of a ton of 'em roaming the warehouse.

I enjoyed it quite a bit. I think there's more potential there than most new shows have so I'll keep watching. I dvr'ed it and watched it today with the kiddos. I caught JF in the promo the other night and was like 'wha...is that...omg, he's gonna guest on it!' reaction lol.

It certainly has me more excited than SGpoo.

It's got more potential than most of the shows on right now, and yeah, can't wait for Joe's episode. I'd love it if more SGA alum showed up too!

Ooh thanks for this! I'm not really interested in the show, but I will for sure watch Joe's episode. I hope to see him in a bigger role soon! I do miss seeing him on TV.

Yeah, not having a weekly dose of Joe is tough.

First Episode

I found the first episode to be very lightweight and slightly boring. I don't, however, judge books by their cover and it is a little tricky to introduce concepts and characters for the first time. So, on to the second eh? :-)

I'm hoping it improves on the episodes. Sometimes pilots can be better, or worse, than the show itself. Now that everybody has established WHY they're there, they can work on actual plots, and maybe more ferrets...

I like some cheesy SciFi, so this was okay. I hope the writing improves. It has a Librarian vibe I like, and the hubby had fun sniping at the Secret Service blunders. I hope they do something fun with Joe.

I gotta admit I've watched far too much cheesy scifi myelf ;)

I finally got around to watching it (Had to wait until the kin-folk were out of the house so I could watch it without anyone trying to talk to me. Because, supposedly "I haven't seen this before, please be quiet so I can hear" translates to "blah, blah, blah.")

I'm with you - it's more a candy show than must-see-every-episode. But because it's fun, and could grow on me, I'm going to give it a chance (especially for the Joe ep :D)

This is the kind of show that I wouldn't mind just watching on a marathon. Light, no real thought involved...
