Well, hey, I've been eating wild raspberries for a week now. Breakfast, dinner, but not lunch - gotta have some protein! Anyway, I've put some photos under the cut (for size) in case you want to see what a big plate of raspberries looks like :)

Dinner last night

Dinner tonight, with a fresh peach (to which I think I am allergic, hmmm) on the blanket I got for $5 at an Ikea sale (ooh, and I got my 2010 Ikea catalog today!!)

And lastly, meow!, a friend's cat sleeping in a box of paper going off to recycling.

Date: 2009-08-06 01:44 am (UTC)We are loaded with berries this year.....raspberries,
blackberries, blueberries, Marionberries, Loganberries,
and Boysenberries. I love them all and buy the frozen ones all year long. There is a local company that bags them.
I just bought a bag of Blueberries, Marionberries, and
Boysenberries. The are simply to die for.
We had a cat like this one. His name was Freddie. He
was a dear friend.

Date: 2009-08-06 02:44 am (UTC)When I was a kid, there was a raspberry patch & a blackberry bramble in the lot next to our house. There would be a fresh quart of raspberries every day -- by the time the blackberries were ripe, we were already too sated to bother collecting them. (Not to mention the blackberries had 2-inch thorns.) Then somebody bought the lot and put in a house where the berries used to be.
(Those berries were delicious, but never as pretty as yours -- there was some disease in the soil that made them crumbly.)
These days, I make do with what the farmer's market offers, and I'm happy to have that much.

Date: 2009-08-06 03:13 am (UTC)Totally envious of your berry haul. The puppy and I discovered a thicket of blackberries and grabbed a shirtful (it's really hard to get those stains out, but so worth it) and pigged out that evening. By the time we got back the next day the birds and other wildlife had wiped it clean. Sadness.
But your berries are beautiful.
