Stargate Atlantis movie news, sorta...
Sep. 10th, 2009 07:24 pmSciFi had an article on "New Stargate movies finally ready to begin shooting?" which is more or less, well, not news... http://scifiwire.com/2009/09/amanda-tapping-new-starga.php
EXCERPT: Amanda Tapping says that a new Stargate SG-1 movie could begin production later this year, as soon as the first season of Syfy's upcoming SGU: Stargate Universe wraps. A new straight-to-DVD movie was announced a while back.
"As far as I know, we may start in late fall or early winter this year," Tapping said in an exclusive interview. "And I will slip back into Sam Carter very nicely; I'm looking forward to it.
...........
What about a new Stargate Atlantis movie? "Atlantis is still being talked about for this year," [Martin] Wood said. "Right now, I'm so far removed from it, but they'll let me know, and I'm happy to do it."
NOTE: Article was originally titled "New Stargate SG-1 movie in works" and then mysteriously changed to "New Stargate movies finally read to begin shooting?" Hmm....

Date: 2009-09-11 11:09 pm (UTC)I'm dismayed that an SGA movie may not come to pass this year, next year or ever. I've heard that it's the economy, or that the sound stages are being used for SGU, or the actors couldn't all commit at the same time. I hope that SGU is good because some people have come to rely on their Gate fixes to keep them perky.
