SciFi had an article on "New Stargate movies finally ready to begin shooting?" which is more or less, well, not news... http://scifiwire.com/2009/09/amanda-tapping-new-starga.php

EXCERPT: Amanda Tapping says that a new Stargate SG-1 movie could begin production later this year, as soon as the first season of Syfy's upcoming SGU: Stargate Universe wraps. A new straight-to-DVD movie was announced a while back.

"As far as I know, we may start in late fall or early winter this year," Tapping said in an exclusive interview. "And I will slip back into Sam Carter very nicely; I'm looking forward to it.
...........
What about a new Stargate Atlantis movie? "Atlantis is still being talked about for this year," [Martin] Wood said. "Right now, I'm so far removed from it, but they'll let me know, and I'm happy to do it."

REST of article at link above; mostly just supposition and stuff I could swear I've already read in another article just recently. While it says nothing about a green light on the SGA movie (and I'll believe the SG1 movie is being made when it's listed in Variety), I guess at least it keeps the name in the public (sorta) eye.

NOTE: Article was originally titled "New Stargate SG-1 movie in works" and then mysteriously changed to "New Stargate movies finally read to begin shooting?" Hmm....

Sadly it exists everywhere. Some people who take or keep for themselves the credit the others earned.
I don't work in the movie or TV industry but I think the better way to increase the quality is to use skills of everyone so listening them. Acting like someone who throws him weight around is rarely efficient. It's bad management. Using the skills of everyone on the set would have been good management.
I wonder if all of this would not have influenced the cancellation decision and it was the case once again it would be the consequences of a bad management. So JM would have taken this risk and jeopardized the show only by revenge. If it's the case it would be sadder wasting a success. Plus he lost more coz now he is not anymore executive producers and despite of this he is the best.
You're right Joe Flanigan and the others brought life to their characters without them Sheppard would be remained a generic character. So without actors the characters would not exist anymore so why these producers and writers would not listen them. IMO, actors know better than writers who are their character and how they can evolve.
I hope there will be a better and close collaboration between them if the movie got a chance to be made. For that it would be necessary JM needs to question himself and try to explain himself with Joe Flanigan. Without this I don't see how the movie could be made. Overcoming the ego. I wonder who is inflated ego. I think I know the answer.
I went through his blog and I noticed he eludes each time all questions about Joe or left snarky answers about him. I tried to post there to know why he's never answered question concerning JF or why he's never made Q/A with him. My posts have been systematically removed. And sometime someone asked him about Joe F. this gave him the opportunity to launch snarky remarks or he ignored his lead actor speaking of the others.
Look at the vid JM made "good bye Atlantis" he didn't say any words about him.
If the movie will make I think the relationships must change between them coz Joe F. is very respected by the others members of the cast.
And pettiness is the aspect of the small and weak people. And I don't think Joe F. belongs to this category.
