Filming
I'm filming in the snow of Pennsylvania with a great cast. Robert Patrick, Lance Henrikson, Christian Kane, Hal Holbrook, Kathy Baker, Samantha Mathis, and Joe Flanagan. In other words Bishop, T2 and me. Rocking.

The internet connection is crappy out here, so sorry about the lack of contact.

Later,

Rich "

So close, okay, not so close, but definitely too far!

Hmm, Pittsburgh and its countryside. Great Lakes region looks a bit northern. http://filminpa.com/locations-in-pa/

I was being facetious..........IMO a modern
'western' is a story that is set in the west not in western PA
I just hope this one is not another 'and JF' role as Warehouse 13
was...............a huge disappointment to me given his obvious talent.......when they let him display it in SGA

Ooo, thanks for this! Christian Kane tweets, so you can read about the filming from him. Maybe he'll have something about Joe, although it looks like Christian is a bad guy and Joe isn't, so they may not have scenes together.

Some recent tweets...

I just choreographed a BADASS fight between Robert Patrick (T2) and Lance Henriksen (Aliens).. One of the highlights of my life!! Cloud 9! Dec 4th

It's a film I'm doing in Penn. called "Good Day For It" lotsa Talent littered all over the set.... To see all these people in one room.!!! Dec 5 tweet

Christian is also posting photos and at least one video so far.

Christian is a bad guy?? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
That means he no doubt locks horns with JF's character,
who I am hoping is the one forced out of town, come back
to clean it up, guy...........
and
I am betting Patrick is the gang leader......
Would love to know how they forced him out of town
Does this mean:
Angst?
Action?
H/C???

You're welcome. I knew Christian tweets because I like his series Leverage and looked for anyone from the show who tweeted. I don't follow him but I have him in my IE favorites to check on him once in a while.

You can use your Google-fu and probably come up with more info than I did. Looks like they just started filming in Dec so there should be more info in the coming weeks.

"The other projects are Nick Stagliano's modern-day Western "Good Day for It" ..."

So, it is a western, just modern day...

Interestingly, the article is from 2008! Sure hope once the film is done it doesn't take a year and a day to get released.

Awww...I live in PA. Couldn't they be more specific? I've got a car and a full tank of gas. LOL!

I'm excited! According to Christian Kane's tweets, the other big name guys seem to be baddies, so maybe Joe is the hero!

Thanks for all the sleuthing, guys. :o)

My speculation is that Joe is one of the good guys.

If the plot is: "Good Day for It" is the tale of a man who returns home to face gang members who forced him out of his small town.

I doubt Joe is the man returning to face the gang members if he is the Sheriff. Maybe Joe's character is the Sheriff who can't handle the bad guys OR maybe Joe's character is the returning Sheriff?

I like the idea of the later.

Either way I can't wait for more news! :D

From: [identity profile] black-raven135.livejournal.com
I vote for the latter also.........
But wondering now if Kane is a bad guy, and I am almost certain Patrick is also, then who is the guy who returns?
I would love to see Joe play the guy who returns to clean up the town.
Are we certain he is the sheriff? Or maybe he becomes the sheriff sort of like the real life story in Walking Tall
I forget what his name was, but he cleaned up the town
but not without a lot of angst and h/c
>:-)

I'm betting on Robert Patrick as the guy who returns. Christian Kane posted the pics of the "bad guys" so I'm assuming he, Lance Henricksen, Richard Brake, and Robert Englund are the gang.

Jace Hall described Joe's character as "a Sherrif that mans up an kix ass!" so I'm guessing he's not the lead, but rather the town sheriff who hasn't been keeping the gang in check but ends up helping the lead against the gang.

Of course, we'll only know for sure when we find out more details.

That sounds like what I was leaning towards. Hopefully Joe has a good sized supporting role.

Interesting because as I drove around on errands today I was thinking it over and decided Patrick is probably man who returns and Joe is the sheriff who is hopelessly outnumbered, and never mind outgunned no doubt........
Nice combo, Patrick and Flanigan fighting the bad guys.......

Joe Flanigan and Robert Patrick on the same side. Hope they end up with a better relationship than they did in Rising. Or more scenes.

I'm thinking Hal Holbrook is on their side, too. Holbrook could be Robert Patrick's father and the reason Patrick returns to that town.

One more tidbit:
"Set over the course of one day, a man returns home to face gang members who forced him out of his small town"
http://movies.nytimes.com/movie/456232/Good-Day-for-It/overview
So should be pretty intense.
There are a few more production details at that site, but not too much new info. It does say the filming will take place in Pennsylvania and Tennessee.

Lance Henricksen and Robert Patrick are fighting in one of the scenes mentioned by Christian Kane, and he just tweeted :
"Watching Lance Henriksen cut a man into itty bitty pieces.. Guy shouda told the truth... Nothin I can do. Or woulda if I wanted to >:) "
so I'm assuming (not always a good idea LOL) that Patrick is one of the good guys and Henricksen is one of the baddies.

Itchy. Robert is currently on location with Lance Hendricksen, Hal Holbrook, Kathy Baker, Robert Patrick and Samantha Mathis shooting a down and dirty nasty little movie entitled GOOD DAY FOR IT somewhere in rural Pennsylvania. He will not be home until December 18 so CHRISTMAS DELIVERY can not be guaranteed. We can send a description of the item to the lucky recipient but that's the best we can do. Sorry. Nancy

Christian on Leverage

Date: 2009-12-17 04:46 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] watcher652.livejournal.com
Christian Kane is part of the Whedonverse (Joss Whedon projects). He was lawyer Lindsey McDonald on the series "Angel". He's currently on the TNT series "Leverage", a Dean Devlin (producer, Stargate movie) project. Kane is the muscle on a team lead by Timothy Hutton that devises elaborate scams to get justice against those who use wealth and power to victimize people. Sort of part Ocean's 11 and part A-Team.

http://www.tnt.tv/series/leverage/

One of the team regulars recently had a child, so Jeri Ryan (Star Trek Voyager's 7 of 9) did the last episode aired as her replacement on the team. It was implied that she would be coming back for more episodes when the show returns in January.

He's a regularly on the show Leverage but his big role was on Angel where he played an evil lawyer (Oxymoron yes).

He also looks a little like JF only shorter and less hairier.

I wonder if his part is akin to his Det. Sheppard persona from 'Vegas'? I can see how that part might have gotten him this part. An alcoholic sheriff letting the bad guys push him around and then finding his spine and backing up the 'hero'. That would be cool and might give him a chance to stretch his acting wings a bit.

Go Joe!

Pa location?

From: [identity profile] watcher652.livejournal.com
Wow, how did anyone find that photo?

The audio guy above uploaded a photo on Dec 16 taken from The Poconos. It's not in his GDFI folder, but maybe it's still a clue? The exact location is noted on the photo as Slateford, Mount Bethel, about 30 miles north of Bethlehem, PA and about 70 miles east of NYC. Mount Bethel is on the southern border of the Delaware Water Gap National Reserve, which sounds like a good place to film a modern day Western.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/xjohnpaulx/4190747526/in/photostream/

Actually, all his latest photos are from around The Poconos. He has one from a place called Memorytown, USA taken on Nov 30 which looks a little Western. His last photo (so far) taken on Dec 17 looks like a photo of himself at Long Pond, PA, still around The Poconos.

I wonder if they were still there during the snow storm on Dec 19.
