More on Jason Momoa and Conan the Barbarian

While I think Jared Padalecki on Supernatural is sorta cute, I just cannot see him as Conan the Barbarian. I'm trying to envision him, versus Jason Momoa, swinging a sword. Hmm, nah. Watching Jason in action on Stargate Atlantis with the sword - he's tailor made for the role - although the studios may go with Jared to draw in the Supernatural crowd, but Jared's gonna have to beef up quite a bit if he gets the role.

I absolutely adore Jared, but you're right that Jason is perfect for the part of Conan. I don't think Jared would have to beef up though. That boy is more ripped than Jason right now.

Loooove Jared Padalecki. He is incredibly, beautifully ripped (although the picture on JustJared is a manip.)However, I'd love to see Jason in this role, I think he'd be great.

Jared is beefed up way enough. But I agree with you and the others: Jason is just more the type for a barbarian.

Also: I'd prefer to see Jared in a sixth season SPN and would be happy for Jason to get a job in a feature!

It isn't confirmed, but there are some rumors that Kripke might be giving in sooner or later as he is the one who wanted to end SPN after 5 seasons, but the show still pulls strong numbers for its station. So there is hope =)

Padalecki is a cute baby. I don't think - even in his most badass-demon-hunter moment - that he can pull off the brooding menace that is needed for a proper Conan. Momoa can do it off without having to practice.

Plus he'd look bitchin' in a breech-clout and sandals. ;-)

A sixth season of SPN is definitely on the table, and both Js are contracted for it. I think a decision will be made soon one way or the other.

But even if it wasn't, I really don't see Jared in that role, even at his most buff. Don't know anything about the Twilight folks, but Jason seems tailor-made for a role like that. :)

Jared's pretty beefy now a days, but I think Jason would pull off the warrior type much better. Jared's just too "adorable" and "cuddly", even if he's super muscular. Jason can give off a sense of danger and power where I think Jared can't.

I agree wholeheartedly! Although Jared certainly has the height--isn't he 6'4"---I don't think he has the presence for the role, even if he did beef up for it. Jason has that primal, animal energy that would fit the role perfectly. :-)
