Darn. Just read at http://www.ksitetv.com/nbcs-jim-rockford-is-cast/ that the remake of Rockford Files has been cast. No sign of Joe Flanigan, however. They reportedly went with Dermot Mulroney, who has never done anything for me in all the years I've seen him in films, etc.

However, this means one less show to look out for. Maybe Michael Shanks will get Hawaii Five-O. One can hope...

As long as people were polite in their campaigning and emails, it shouldn't have had any effect. And well, doubt any fan would be dumb enough to be nasty "hire so and so or else!"

Hope to see Joe in something else then.

I will never believe Joe's fans were impolite in emails/snail mail, rather I think it has to do with the politics of it all. Hollywood is full of that kind of schtick. I could not believe some of the stuff my cousin told me about it........he was a set designer for years on contract to Universal but then began to free lance, but when I visited him he was working for Universal.
I am hopeful for much more for Joe.
It is my hope TNT or USA picks him up. I always thought a series like Burn Notice would have been great for him or Dark Blue which I think hit the skids due to poor casting, but Hollywood seems very adept at that sort of thing.

Yeah, USA or TNT or premium cable... more freedom to create on those shows. Salary wouldn't be as high (it would still be good though) but probably happier place to work.
