FANGORIA will host a free screening of Warner Bros./Dark Castle’s new horror thriller SPLICE, from acclaimed CUBE director Vincenzo Natali, at the Cinema Village (22 East 12th Street, off University Place) on Saturday, May 8 at 11:30 p.m. Natali, who also helmed CYPHER and NOWHERE, will attend the screening and conduct a Q&A. You can see the exciting trailer for SPLICE— which stars PREDATORS’ Adrien Brody and DAWN OF THE DEAD’s Sarah Polley and was produced by HELLBOY’s Guillermo del Toro— and find out how to get in below!

The Fango SPLICE screening will be a free show; to obtain tickets, send an email to fangoscreening@starloggroup.com This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . You must list “SPLICE” as your subject line. Offer is good for you and one guest. Plus tell us your full name and whether you want to be added to the FANGORIA newsletter list so we can inform you about future Fango screenings and events. Names will be checked at the door. Offer is first come, first served, and we will confirm your rsvp. Seating is not guaranteed, however. This advance preview is sponsored by Warner Bros.

Canadian actor David Hewlett (PIN, SCANNERS II, STARGATE ATLANTIS, etc.) plays a corporate creep in SPLICE, which also sports astonishing FX by KNB and C.O.R.E. Digital. The film’s official website is here: http://splicethefilm.com/. SPLICE opens nationwide on June 4. Check out the cover story of FANGORIA #294, on sale later this month, for an exclusive SPLICE set visit and interviews. See you this Saturday!

People who care about such things should know that this film (at least the original cut of it, I don't know what's happened in American release) contains some content that could fairly be described as "triggery."

Content that many people would find upsetting, above and beyond the standard horror-movie gore.

So close and yet...

Dammit! It's at 11:30pm. I can get to NYC, but I won't be able to leave. The mass transit I'd need to take to go home doesn't run when the movie and Q&A will be over. Guess I'll just have to wait unit it's in wider release.

Thanks for this!

Hey, what's this Nowhere movie that Natali supposedly helmed? Could they mean Nothing? Gah, how did that get by the proofreading?

At least they spelled David's name correctly ;)

Word of caution: It's pretty bad.

He's good in it, though.

Poor Adrien Brody is promoted like star of the Predator remake and not like the Oscar winner now? Okay, in this case it's definitely soothing that at least they were able to spell David's name correctly...

I honestly can't see Adrien in PREDATOR myself... well, since I do like a lot of weird Canadian films, I just might like this one ;)

Very true. If it were an 11:30 a.m. showing, I'd be very tempted to try, but 11:30 pm. Gads, getting back home would be awful, plus I'd probably fall asleep during film! ;)

::pets you:: I think public transportation should be better in the late night than the current system. But oh well.

I've done midnight showings of Serenity, and even if I'm sleepy after, there's always COFFEE!!!!

well my last experience with a midnight film was falling asleep in middle of it ;) and I have to catch subways, trains and a car to get home (not in NY). I shall live vicariously through reports from folks like you... ooh, like your icon :)
