Somebody up there (points vaguely) said Surfrider Beach; I don't know what the name of this break is, just east of Malibu Lagoon, but the pier with the double building is right, and the water's full of surfboards.

Me, I go through life looking for reasons to search googlemaps/google earth; I asked my LA- area educated husband if he recognized it first, but then just went outward from Malibu until something clicked.

I once had an 8ft wide by 10ft tall USGS map mosaic in my apartment, so googlemap is like moving into my dream world :-}

Gotta admit it's very addictive to start looking up addresses on google maps! ;)
