Last night, well, early this morning... at 4:00 a.m. or so, I was awoken with sharp pains, of tiny cat claws walking all over me, poking me, poking me. Ouch! So, this morning, I trimmed them all down to where they should be. He's no longer the scary Siamese with evil long claws. Just the very loud demanding Siamese with claws that will grow out all too quickly....

Fortunately he doesn't mind being trimmed, unlike the dog, who tries to run away.

Ugh. My cats do NOT like having their claws trimmed. And I absolutely have to do the little one's. She has this obsessive-compulsive kneadypaws habit. Whenever I go to bed, she's right there immediately with her head buried against my side or chest, kneading away. This goes on for an average of 20 minutes. And if I try to ignore her, she just headbutts me over and over until I let her do it, lol! She's sweet, but it's really annoying when it's so hot or you're very tired. Plus, it's damn painful if there's a sharp claw in there. /o\

Have you seen these?

So far I haven't read anything bad about them, so I may just give them a try. They're supposed to last several weeks. Would be much better than wrestling with both cats each week, lol!

One of the gals at work uses that thing and loves it! My cat like to butt heads too, but then sits on my chest and plants his butt in my face.

I have read that they can become contaminated with feces from pawing in the litterbox. I would imagine with consistant checking/cleaning it wouldn't be a problem?

I wish my cats didn't mind. Maisie and Cookie would probably claw me to death. I can manage one little fingernail at a time with them, often several days apart.

I haven't tried with Kasper, because he's really not one for scratching. And I figure he probably needs them to defend himself against the big kitties!

Well, my cat doesn't scratch so much as poke me to death, or walk across How to Train Your Dragon fleece blanket and pull out threads!

Ah, yes. The pulled thread. Always annoying. I know it well!

Ouch! Good thing he doesn't mind having them clipped, though 4am is a lousy time to be poked awake!

No, oddly enough he does mind them being clipped. Thank goodness. One cat many many years ago hated it.

My dogs squirm. It takes two of us, one to hold and me to clip.

The only solace they find in it is the treat afterwards.
