I'm posting this a day early because I plan to come home tomorrow night, spend a couple hours hacking up a bush, then watch Eureka and Flashpoint and conk out ;)
So, here is the weekly report on what the Stargate Atlantis actors are up to.... Under cut due to size.
JOE FLANIGAN is in Toronto making his new movie, plus tweeting about David Hewlett going to the dark side for doing Stargate Universe, and advising fans to stop following the fake Jason Momoa on twitter (@jasonmomoa, just in case you didn’t know). Meanwhile, there are several new photos up at http://rhitv.com/in-production/the-other-side for “The Other Side”. I also put them up at http://wraithfodder.livejournal.com/449186.html.
DAVID HEWLETT is working on Stargate Universe, reprising his role as Rodney McKay. We don’t know much about it yet, but geez, with Rodney there, he should solve the problem and end the show ;) He’s quoted at http://scifipulse.net/?p=32955 saying “You cannot have McKay in an episode — just like you can’t have Jack O’Neill in an episode of Stargate — without a certain personality, or at least aspects of that personality, coming through,” Hewlett said. “But I think they’ve done a really good job of getting just enough of it in there. But not so much that it takes away from what they are doing on SGU.” Meanwhile, if you read Joe Flanigan’s twitters, he’s having fun making fun of David for doing this show.
JASON MOMOA is not on twitter. Yes, a fan asked him about it at Dragoncon and then the fan posted a picture with Jason’s not-too-subtle words on how he is not tweeting. And Conan the Barbarian co-star Stephen Lang “also mentioned how he got to kick Jason Momoa’s ass ‘for almost two hours’ in an MTV video interview at http://bit.ly/bSiElU
KAVAN SMITH's horror flick “Red” (a ‘re-imagining of Little Red Riding Hood) will debut on SyFy on October 30th at 9:00 PM. He plays the boyfriend who is bitten by a werewolf. Also, his movie “Growing the big One”, will air on the Hallmark Channel on October 23rd. Details at http://popwatch.ew.com/2010/09/08/shannen-doherty-growing-big-one-hallmark/ Kavan plays the annoying neighbor Seth (how can Kavan being annoying??) ;) There’s a cute shot of Kavan and Shannen Doherty at the article, plus more description of the plot.
DAVID NYKL's “Beast of Bottomless Lake” will have a Vancouver screening on October 2nd. Details forthcoming at http://www.facebook.com/thebeastofbottomlesslake/posts/142735052434349.
PAUL McGILLION's short film “A Fine Young Man” will play at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 11th at 1:00 p.m. “The world premiere of A Fine Young Man will take place Sept. 10, at 9:15 p.m., at the Isabel Bader Theatre, and will also be shown Sept. 11, at 1 p.m., at the Art Gallery of Ontario. "Paul, myself and Kevan are all going to be (at TIFF) opening night and at the (question and answer session) and we're hoping old St. Catharines family and friends will be making the journey up," said [Wesley] Salter, who now makes his home in Vancouver, during a phone interview. ROBERT DAVI – remember Kolya? – well, he’s in the new SyFy flick “Swamp Shark”. Judging from the trailer, he looks like the bad evil businessman type who will probably meet a nasty demise. Meanwhile, the swamp footage looks cool. I love the dialogue. “This isn’t a normal shark. It swims!” Well, duh…ah, summer 2011 for this gem. And that's it for this round-up :)
