Well, this basically went to waste due to the emergency vet clinic visit, but I figured I'd post the photos...

Yes, you too can make colorful brains out of Jell-O.. I got the eyeballs at a party store. Only time of year you can buy them, of course.

 Here are more!

The orange brain, with high-end antanne ;)

The blue one didn't jell as well - maybe too much water? My god, blue Jell-O tastes soooo ... fake..WEll, I had to do something with the jell-O that I dug out in order to place the eyes.

My favorite, due to gummy worms leaking out and well, it's red. It was someone's favorite too, as you'll soon find out.

Obviously, from Springfield (The Simpsons, home of three-eyed fish) ;)

The porch.

The crime scene, with the teddy bear who's head nearly came off when I was taking it to tag sale. Blood was made of jell-o and flour. One girl touched it and said "gross! what is it? I touched it!" and I told her. I swear, the girls are a lot more fun than the boys, who seem into getting candy more.

Long view of artistic placement of Jell-O brains. Oh crap, I just remembererd, the giant spider is still outside...

.The remains of the red Jell-O. When I got home from the vet on Sunday  night, it was late and my brother had brought in the candy I left outside and turned off the light. Hm, maybe for 20 minutes. I went outside and went "who the heck vandalized all the brains?" The orange one was shoved off the porch, the blue one torn up, ditto for the red. The green was basically untouched, but all the eyeballs had been removed and scattered. Then I saw it, Sitcky little footprints. A raccoon or maybe possum, but probably former.

When I came out the next morning, this was what was left of the red one. I still have to dispose of them so have to boil up some water to remove the residue, unless some sugar-hungry squirrels come along...

As a Halloween fanatic...I love these. How clever and the crime scene? To die for... OH...well, I guess teddy bear did.

I bet the kids loved it.

As for little girls liking yucky stuff...I used to work in a large hospital in Miami and dealt a lot with public school students who came to tour the hospital to look at careers in healthcare. In this day of CSI...the girls wanted to see the morgue...not the boys...the girls. I never let them look in the refrigerated unit if it was occupied, and I would ask a chaperone for permission before I took the kids in at all. The girls...loved it and I loved dealing with the kids.

I did a crime scene a couple years ago with remains of Zombie Bambi (bones) which the kids really liked. Yeah, and I'll sew the teddy bear back together ;)

Love the brains! Especially the wandering eyeballs.

Bet it's that pesky squirrel who vandalized the brains. Better protect that pumpkin.

since it was late at night, bet it was raccoon. I'd like to think it wasn't squirrels out after dark! ;) and yeah, they'll get the pumpkin eventually. They did last year. I have a video of that, in fact.

All I did was the cobwebs this year and those were destroyed by a huge storm we had :( they looked terrible by the end of it so I took them down intending to put up more and never got the time, sigh..

How did you get the Jell-O to look like a brain?

Just figured I never used my Halloween icon this year. Well, perfect place to do so. ;)

You can buy molds in shape of brain. I added milk/condensed milk to make them look that way.

Again, great start to the end of the week, thanks for the laughs! Original, that's why I adore your LJ so much!!
And who the heck stomped on the brains :(.....that was just mean, and messy............poor brains.
Great pics and who killed Teddy? Did the Bear Homicide Dects. figure out the case yet?

Thanks :) Ah, the stompee was more like a critter that savaged them and then ate them, so they did not go to waste. Considering all had milk in them, the racoon (I think) got some calcium with the sugar overload ;)

As for poor Teddy... well, he's back in the bag for fixing some time down the road.
